I froze my ass off shooting Friday night, my fingers were cold in my Bob Allen Winter Gloves on one 10 bird event, I wonder How The shoots went tonite at North Lawerence and Moulton tonite, were the shoots cancelled? Getting old is Hell. GB..................................DLS
When I first started shooting trap, nothing stopped me from being out there, one day I woke up and realized I could do the same thing when it warmed up and since then, thats how its been ...We shot games at Maywood no matter the weather on Weds night, was always a good time but no body complained when they missed and got to go and warm up ... WPT ... (YAC)...
Hey Glenn, Love my John Storm coat! However, I'm dumb enough that have shot in temps so cold that my Storm jacket seems to have frozen and makes a funny crackling sound when I move. I gotta agree with Doc on this one, we are nuts to shoot when it's that cold! Don
Heck, it was cold the first few days of the Southern Grand this week and my gun stayed in it's case. I don't do cold unless I absolutely have to!
Yep, you are right Don. Talking with Leslie { John's daughter} I told her the only thing that got cold was my cheeks {the ones on my face}. But yes we do shoot when its to cold.(will not turn down a challenge}. Matt ,do you remember that cold day we shot at Fostoria? dumb really dumb. Glenn Don how did you do at Moulton?
We shot a 60 bird protection Calcutta at Snake Road several years ago and it was snowing so hard that it was nearly impossible to determine if the second shot had broken the target or not. Shooting in that weather wasn't our brightest idea either! Glenn, Moulton was fun today! Sent you a PM with details.
6° was 12° warmer than a Sunday we shot in Wallowa, Oregon in January. No wind and the sun was out so it did not feel all that bad. Till you moved, or blinked, or tried to wipe your nose, ................ Larry
Been there-done that but hopefully my brain matured since then. Since I haven't missed a shoot in our Winter league in over 50 years I'm hoping this so called "global warming" continues until I croak.
