It wasn't that the grass was just high. 1,000 sheep were needed this week at the WSRC. From my friend's camper you could not see the trap houses thru the weeds. Last year was different.
The State of Illinois is in a terrible budget crunch so at this point in time they cannot afford sheep or to pay an outstanding electric bill that hovers right around #350,000 which is months in default ... The IDNR may of designated the area where your friend was camping as a wilderness area for people who like living (camping ) off of the grid ... This is speculation but any reason is better than no reason at all ... Hope you all had a good time ... Keep in mind if you have seen one trap you have seen them all any way ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The grounds were not much different from last year. The road in front of the event center has crumbled more, about 100 yards is in need of repair. The men's rest rooms were not very clean. Maintenance is a little lax, but over all it was tolerable. It was not the show place of past years, but remember it is older now. Roger C.
Lets be fair here. The WRSC was fine for this shoot. If anything the Cardinal Center needs to up the maintenance. The crab grass at our campsite, was over 3ft tall in spots. Roundup or its generic equivalent is not too expensive anymore, and I know they have the rig since when its dry they spray down the dust. The main road needs help as well. None of this affects shooting. Its just if we are going to bitch about things, we need to bitch at all shoots.
We need more fish in the pond. There's my complaint. Now what does that have to do with Trapshooting?
I think he finally gave up, never hear anything more about him but I was told he didn't get to sit with the big shots at the meeting ... He got some free shirts and hats any way, not a new shot gun ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Now that's funny stuff! How is Barry doing on that front? Are we bringing in more shooters? Enough to justify his expense? By what metric?
