I seem to recall a statement by a forum member some time ago asserting that the Egyptian Electric invoice looked fraudulent. I thought that was a fair-minded opinion since no one offered proof that it was actually provided by an agency of the Illinois government or the Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association itself. So, in search of the truth, on June 28th, I submitted an online Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources FOIA Office, requesting copies of invoices relating to electric usage at the World Shooting and Recreational complex for the month of May (approximate date-May 1, 2016 through June 1, 2016). I received an official email response from Anne L. Mergen, FOIA Officer, Department of Natural Resources, One Natural Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702 on June 29, 2016, that my request was granted. That communication contained the below 2 invoices. So, while the poor quality of the photocopies cause them to look fraudulent to some, I am convinced that they are authentic. The World Shooting and Recreational Complex is now in arrears on their electrical usage payments of $339,395.40 if I've added correctly. Below is verification that my FOIA request was approved. My name and contact information was redacted by me using my forum name.
Thank you for the updated information, it is truly pathetic that the State of Illinois or anyone can hang a vendor out to dry like the State of Illinois obviously has with regard to this debt ... There comes a point in time where they get what they deserve by not taking action to get payment before it gets this far out and has obviously been ignored ... This will be interesting to see how this, if this gets resolved ... WPT ... (YAC) ...'
How much did the ata say they had in the bank? If push comes to shove, to avoid the eating of any crow, that amount is going to be around $340,000.00 lighter.
