What would happen if there were no yearly target requirements? Let's say once you have shot 2000 singles in your life there are never target requirements for the year. You show up and shoot the average you have.

How would this hurt or help trapshooting?

If there were no annual target requirements it would cut into generated income for the clubs as well as the ATA (daily fees) so that being eliminated is slim to none ... It also gives people a base line to use for the purpose of classification even though that could be very misleading in some instances ... The Top Guns don't want anyone who can beat them to get away without showing them that they are not supposed to be competitive if you look at their averages (Sand bagging ) yet on occasion some slip by ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

well, then your lifetime average may not reflect your recent / current abilities? It might be impossible to get yourself into the proper class if your past average was either too high or too low compared to the current year. If my average over my first 10 thousand targets was 88, then I never miss another singles target again, it will be 30 thousand targets before my lifetime average breaks 97 to put me in AA class.

For your 2000 lifetime target example, if your average for your first 2000 targets was 88, and you then never missed another singles target again, it would be more than 9,300 registered targets before your average put you into AA (97%) Shoot more than 90 perfect singles events in a row before you were considered AA?

True....we could make it for the last 1000 targets.

At first we might buy fewer targets. Initially this would make it tuff to pay for the free guns. Later we would have a larger org .
