    Gary,
I wasn't able to go this year but my shooting friends that are there said the new shoot schedule is producing some great attendance numbers. They shot a 100 singles and a 100 caps today and had 50 - 60 squads for each. I think they are having a fish fry tonight and the auction for tomorrow's caps. Great to hear that old club is heading in good direction again. It has always been one of my favorite places to shoot and they like to shoot for $$$$ there!

    Hi Gary,
I was one of the shooters yesterday that posted a 97. I shot in squad 17/2. I informed Mike that I had to leave around 5 pm and he told me that the handicap event wouldn't even be over until around 7 pm. I told him I was sorry but I couldn't hang around for 2 1/2 hours to see if there was a shoot off or not, so I don't know how it ended up. I hope in the future that they come up with a way of looking back on previous scores (96 singles) for tie breakers instead of making people sit and wait for everyone to get done shooting. I know they worked their tails off and the place was packed. I shot the singles on Saturday (96) and ended up on squad 43/2 at 11:30 in the morning. I asked about the handicap and all they had open was squads higher than 46. I didn't go to the line until 3:00 and finished around 4:30. There were still teams behind us and they had already started the handicap event to make up time for the fish fry at 5 pm. I told Will Gingrich and Rick Springer that we would be shooting with flash lights. So we all packed it up and headed home. Don't get me wrong, those people did a excellent job. But I think that 50-60 squads in two different events and only 12 traps in the same day is getting close to the breaking point.

    Brian,
Great shooting! 97 at Middletown is something to be very proud of. When I first started shooting at Middletown they had the ability to run 5 banks. They rarely needed that but 4 banks were used to the max. Over the years the numbers died down and they dropped to three banks. If the numbers continue to go back up I would bet the club will invest in the trap machines to get 4 full banks operational again. Needing more traps is a testament to the excellent job they are doing. If you were shooting with Will and Rick you guys had one tough squad. Congrats on the 97!

I believe they have traps, simply overwhelmed with the turnout, lacking manpower to open more fields.

Glad to hear that there were several shooters. If the price of crude oil continues to rise, there won't be a need to open more traps. For a decade oil prices have ruined our great sport.

Evidently Middletown dis-continued the 200 Bird Singles and opted for 2 separate Sgls and Added one more Handicap which increased the number of shooters

Which I believe is the Movement of shooter wants.

It also looked like more were playing the MONEY
