BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our own Kenny Ray (History Buff/ HB) on his induction to the New Jersey Hall of Fame ... Well deserved , he is a straight shooter and at times is truly amazing, other times just great ... (kidding ) ... Way to Go Kenny, you the man ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Congratulations HistoryBuff! It would be hard to imagine a more deserving person. HB's dedication to the sport of trapshooting and the preservation of it's history are second to none. And a job well done by the selection committee for the New Jersey HOF!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

But . . . . . . in all honesty, I've never felt and still don't see me quite worthy of the honor.

Shortly after receiving my notification letter, I asked the committee chairman to select another more notable old-time shooter instead. The gentleman shot from the 1920s-1960 and passed in 1964. In my view, (according to my file on his records) he is not only qualified but much more deserving of the honor. One thing for sure, I will work hard to have this shooter and many other of the old-timers enshrined in the future. They have certainly earned the distinction and should have their names and accomplishments remembered in history.

Induction into any Hall of Fame must be reserved for those with the highest level of achievement in shooting and/or contributions (volunteer and/or financial) over a period of at least 20 years in my view. Needless to say, integrity is of paramount importance.

While I have given much personal time to the sport, I gave freely and willingly in hopes of making a positive impact. I only wanted to be helpful; not given any recognition. I really wanted to assist in giving recognition, that's why I helped in establishing our State HOF back in 1999.

I remain humbled that others feel I have earned such an honor. I only wish I felt that way.
