I completely understand the interest in PITA but seriously question whether it would provide the shooting outlet we've come to enjoy. For the most part PITA shoots are well attended and the shooters seem to get along quite well. In fact it's been said they actually enjoy each other's company and appear to commingle while conversing, actually expressing enjoyment and even erupting in spontaneous laughter. Shooters supporting PITA such as Dan Thome and Sockeye visit this site and immediately start using actual facts and logic. I mean what fun is that? PITA seems to have no management issues, no underhanded decisions taking place, volunteer management working for free and not looking for handouts, taking calls from members and answering questions. Seriously, what fun would this be? Everyone getting along enjoying the sport? Come on is that what shooters really want? I think the ATA should offer to trade EC members so PITA can fall more in line with the ATA shooting experience. No conflict? Come on how mundane is that.
I am helping out a veteran shooter who does not use the computer. I have had two e-mails with the PITA Executive Secretary this morning. Sue his taking care of the shooter that I am working with. I cannot tell you how many times I have sent e-mails as early as 5:30 in the morning, and had a reply within ten minutes. I for one have never understood why or what the rift seems to be that some ATA shooters seem to have against PITA shooters. Due to where I live, there are only PITA registered shoots.(all clubs to the best of my knowledge do offer ATA cross registration). For me to shoot an ATA shoot. It requires a minimum of a three hours drive over a mountain pass that I just hate with a passion to drive over. I did make a few 4-5 hour drives last year to shoot ATA shoots in eastern Washington last year. I will do so again this year, But damn I hate the friken pass. But I will be going over it several times to shoot again this year. Jim Bradbury
I have requested financials statement from the ATA several times and have yet to get a response, probably would not have that problem with the P.I. T. A. but am not interested in their statements ... I do not know of any "rift " between any ATA and or P.I. T. A. Shooters as a matter of fact quite the opposite from what I have seen ... The ATA ignores its members then wonders why they can't get shooter to show up for their big shoot ( the biggest little shoot in the world) in Sparta, Ill ... There is a need to take out the trash and start over, can't help you with the mountain pass and it won't change so get used to it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
PITA or ATA doesn't matter as long as a person can shoot to his or hers hearts content. In the anti-gun environment we are facing in todays world we need to stick together in all aspects of the shooting sports.
WPT, Yep the mountain pass just plain sucks, but I love to shoot. So when I get the bug to head east, I just bear through it and go. I have met great people shooting. Hope to make it to the Cardinal Classic, in the near future. If not this year then next for sure. Jim Bradbury

Interesting Leonidas, but just what have you asked and what have you received. People would like to know
I shot one PITA shoot in Vancover BC, had a great time. Leo and I shot the Canadian Championships there in 76 or 77, great time and a nice club. I remember they threw green targets against pine trees and I was amazed how well you could see them. Brad
With cross registration available to PITA and ATA shooters I would think the Grand must draw shooters wanting to cross register their targets with PITA. Anyone know if many shooters opt to cross register their targets at the Grand?
Heard that about 1600 shooters shoot the GAH each year just to cross register with PITA. The other 35 are trying to win.
Kidding aside most know PITA is not the answer. But, PITA style of "shooters first" would be something new.
If the PITA, gets stronger in the trap shooting field, they will have to contend with the clubs that cheat on the target setting rules. If they do not take a strong stance they will have the same problems that the ATA has not been able to quell. The ATA let it get out of hand and it will be hard to reregulate the offending clubs. Especially with how the membership in the game has fallen. Many clubs do not feel they need the registered shooters any more. The shooters will have to insist that the clubs follow the rule book to a tee. No more I like this setting so I want them reset to my liking. Roger C.
Roger, I see they are cross registering targets at Ben Avery now according to the last program I got from them ... I might drive up there and see if I have to register the targets with the ATA also or if I can just shoot and register then with the PITA at the club ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Bill.... Here are some more PITA targets being shot in Az...... http://shootpita.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Casa-Grande-January-11_12_16.pdf
