You will need to find some shotgun shells that the REM 97 primers will fit in.The diameter is smaller than 209 primers. I have seated some 97 in 209 cases using cut up soda straws. They are not very powerful so I used them in 20 gauge hulls using UNIQUE powder.
I used a Mec 600 jr one shell at a time.

“IF” I recall, the old *97 primers were for the paper or cork bases in hulls from the ‘70s, but my memory may well be faulty. I do remember loading the remington hulls and getting a face full of dislodged cork or paper at ejection occasionally.

If my memory serves me well I believe Remington went to the 209 primer when they went to the plastic hull.
