I have, and shoot sporting clays with, an 1100 Competition w/ the synthetic stock in the carbon fiber dipped pattern. Love everything about it - especially how soft it shoots. I've read that for at least a couple of years at some point, Remington offered the Competition with a wood stock, though, and that has me wondering if I could pick up a set of wood for mine. It'd be solely to get the "wood look" and maybe not stick out so much in a world of nice wood stocks at every event This doesn't concern me much, really, but with nothing more constructive to do on a Sunday afternoon (already spent half a day at the club yesterday)... it got me wondering. Not sure I'd want to give up the Auto-Buster recoil pad, though. Maybe I could even have a wood stock modified for the Auto-Buster? I know the classifieds is the place for a "wanted" ad... I'm just looking for advice/opinions/etc. as to whether something like I'm wondering about is even possible. Thanks all. Luke
Have you checked out some of the Hydrographic film for Hydro dipping? Have seen some fantastic jobs that I couldn't tell from real wood.
A few 1100 Comps had wood, some had stainless receivers I think. Very hard to find in my area. I’m sure any 1100 wood would work and a gracoil reducer can be installed. I would keep what you have and like rrisum suggests get it dipped.
