I like shooting my XT32 for everything. One gun person but it would be nice to have a light 34 with a high impact. Perazzi makes them but i cant afford the Perazzi gun or $10,000 barrel.
It’s a shotgun. You’re not supposed to be looking at the sight. You’re supposed to be focused on the target.
All you need is 33" for a single barrel & 30" for o/u--there was a Sporting Clays champ Anthony Mattarese who won a lot with a Beretta 391
Shot trap for 50 years. Then after my wife died I just lost interest in it. So I pretty much sold everything. Haven’t shot in a few years now. I’m done
just sold my 36" Hasting barrel for my 870 Trap --If you want a sight plane check out one of them out --Great sight plane but I never could catch up to the bird.
Did you ever attend the grand back in the 90's? there was a gentleman that shot from a wheelchair if I remember right that shot one with about a 50" barrel.
Well, then, I guess you'll just have to keep shooting your 32" XT. You could get an extra-long rib made for your gun.
Bat Thompson was his name, I believe. I was always impressed watching him shoot, never put the gun to his shoulder, either.
I used see him there for years. brings back memories of the good ole days! I believe I heard he passed a while back.
Robert (Bat) Thomas of Greenville PA died in 2013. ....I was always fascinated reading about him shooting from a wheelchair with a looooong-barreled gun. ....I have seen the barrel described as being 44" for an o/u to a 50+" single.
You’re right, his last name was Thomas. He was quite impressive to watch shoot, he basically shot from the hip (the gun wasn’t on his shoulder) and the gun had a different report than any other shotgun on the line at Vandalia. I remember sitting behind a trap that he was shooting handicap on (I seem to remember he was a long yardage shooter but I could be wrong about that) and he shot a 23. Nice guy to talk to, also.
