After watching some of the posts about the successes of the High School Leagues I thought the Nebraska kids league deserves a handful of kudos.

The number 2,400 dwarfs the amount of active ATA shooters that participates at the State ATA Shoot. BTW that is more than the adults that shot in any event at the Grand.

I would shoot more too if someone else was paying my entry fees and shells. But I am glad to see the kids shooting. Maybe they will come back when they are 40 and have some time and extra cash.

    Got it...
So why aren't the parents taking the Kids to the Grand?

Husker007, MAYBE IT IS THE LACK OF ACCOMADATIONS IN THE AREA. AND THE TOTAL COST OF THE VENTURE. The cost for me to go to the grand from Arizona was about $5000.00 from the time I left home till the time I got back. many families have one or more shooters so add another $1000.00 dollars to that and you may have your answer. Most families are not flushed with money. Roger C.

Because it will cost them money --At least in our club -We give them the birds basically for cost -The clubs fundraiser pays for the shell -Parents pay for travel up to state, then they are on their own.

Very few of the parents of our HS team even shoot, much less ATA registered. They don't even know what the Grand is. I'm just happy that they are shooting. Maybe that will help keep them from growing up into brain-dead liberals.
