Great turn out this week. 33 shooters in the Calcutta. one 50, five 49's. Easy targets!! LOL. Hope you all can make it this coming week.

 

Rookieshooter Yes I left home Tuesday morning and left my gun at home ! I went to my truck to put it together and it was missing so I called home and ask my wife if my gun was there and she said yes right where I left it.
You know Big Papa offered me one of his guns to shoot Tuesday night but I had a lot going on beings it was are first Calcutta night ........... you have to say I had the traps throwing some really nice targets for all of you guys with the score that come in.


Like Big Papa said hope to see everyone next week again.

I would like to say thanks to everyone that made it out for are Sausage shoot Sunday............. hope everyone had a good time.

One other thing we have two more weeks of Calcutta's, tomorrow night Oct 27 and are last one is Nov 10th
The club is closed on Nov 3rd do to voting.

Big THANK YOU to Rick, Big Papa and the rest of the hard working crew at Newport for running a great sausage shoot! I think 16 squads shot the 75 bird program and I have no idea how many 10 bird races they had. I know our gang had a great time shooting, eating and generally BS'ing around the big table. I hope the "20 gauge" event catches on and we have even more shooters try it next time. I was lucky enough to leave with 26 lbs of very tasty sausage! I know Mrs. DuckDog is already looking up some new recipes to start using up the sausage. I hope to make it down for one of the two remaining Calcutta shoots.

Rick I was planning on being at Newport last night for your last Calcutta, but the rain kept me from attending, I cannot get my Prosthetic foot wet. I wish the rain would have let up. I am almost as good as I once was, and wanted the competition
so I could build up my Stamina, I have been working out building my Arm Muscle Strength. Just maybe I will be able to make the trip to the Annual Alexandria Kentucky, 60 Bird buddy Shoot, on November 24th.

Sorry that you couldn't make it.
The rain let up around noon and by 7:00 when the broad sold the wind let up also. We had a nice turn out plus Big Popa had me frying up fish for the guys............ I am pretty sure everyone like that.

Not sure what I will do next week with myself on Tuesday night now that the club is closing for the winter.

 

What did the broad bring?

 

Pretty sure selling "broads" is strictly a Nevada thing. I bet Rick is blushing when he reads this! Wish I could have made it down for the shoot and especially for the fish fry. This club knows how to throw a party!

Hey I was hoping that you could have made down to are last shoot but that's ok......... you just miss out on some good fish and some really nice targets.
One thing about the Newport Sportsmen's Club we try and make everyone feel at home.

When I get are new 2016 shooting schedule I will post it, so keep a eye out for it. Sounds like we maybe adding some more shoots to are schedule for next year.

 

Don what was the winning 20 ga score? I have one of those 20 ga guns you remember, NOT tubed like some of your squad mates futile attempt at the small gun. Tubed guns shouldn't be allowed in Trap, skeet is ok because we know how they are. Real men shoot Real 20 ga's. Brad

I don't recall the winning score but we were all pretty close. I think Will G. or perhaps Scott W. was high gun. It was certainly a bunch of fun. Despite the fact that I have perfect legs for wearing a pink "skeeter" skirt, I was shooting a Beretta 686S in 20 ga. The same gun that I carry for pheasant hunting. No tubed 12 bore for me! Now Mr. Springer on the other hand......... Next year we will save you a spot on the squad. I don't think "the Democrat" will mind giving you his spot on the squad.
