I'm going back to reloading, Haven't reloaded other than sub gauge for skeet. Now I shoot sporting clays and need some recipes for 1 oz 12 ga 1200-1250 fps loads. Will be using mostly AA's hulls haven't decided on primers yet but probably Winchester 209. I have a PW 800B i just picked up. I'll order a 1 oz shot bushing but unsure of range of powder busings I'll need. Any help will help so thanks..
I'm a gun club guy, so can't help with components, but what powder are you going to be using? That might help with some bushing numbers
I load Gun Clubs and AAs with the same loads. Powder will be the determining factor - and IF you have that many Win 209s. Sold all of mine to switch to Cheddites. Now just need to get rid of my Red Dot & 700X since changing over to High Gun & Perfect Pattern. No sense in keeping powder that I can't buy whenever i want!

For your 1 oz 12 ga 1200-1250 fps loads with AA hulls and Winchester 209 primers, you'll need powder bushings from #18 to #22, depending on the powder. Always verify charge weight on a scale.
Bushings for the PW are lettered, not numbered. Everything you are asking depends on the powder you are going to use or should I say, able to buy. You can't just run out and buy any old powder these days and unless you have a stash of Winchester 209's, you probably ain't going to find many around for sale at the retail level. If you want to load 1200 to 1250fps get you a jug of Tite Group and stuff 17 to 18 grains and 1 oz. of hard 7.5's in a Gun Club hull and go shoot whatever game, you choose to play. Tite Group, Tite Wad, and Perfect Pattern "which is supposed to be the same powder as Tite Group" and have fun making your own loads. Buy a book and a good scale or get on Hodgdon's web site and learn.
If you know your hull and primer, you have to pick a powder to pick a bushing size. Tite group is a fine compact powder, Competition and Unique are fluffy powders that might be a 6 or 7 higher bushings. Tite group, Tite wad, and Perfect Pattern are not the same powders. Tite Group and High Gun are the same powder ( Per Hogdon the supplier ). Please don’t use any load recipes unless you verify with published data from the manufacturer. Failure to do so could result safety problems for both you and the people you are shooting with.
I said Tite Group and Perfect Pattern are the same and they are not! I stand corrected.............High Gun and Tite Group as one. So they say???? Thank you for the correction, Mr. hat. Still, Tite group is a great powder and a little goes a long way. Like I said, buy the book, get a good scale, got to Hodgdon's site and find you a load that suits your needs. Thanks Hullsnatcher, I forgot to mention the scale, bushing charts are a starting point and should be checked with a scale. I agree with you sir, I am a fan of Tite group / High gun, its a good powder and economical, lots of good recipes on Hogdon site.
When reloading for sporting clays with 1 oz loads in 12 ga AA hulls, some powders to consider are Hodgdon Clays, Alliant Red Dot, and Winchester Super Handicap.
