    CHAMPION TARGET CLOSES RICHMOND PLANT
    Posted by Palos

(Richmond, IN)--A Richmond manufacturing facility has closed its doors. Last week, according to an employee, the doors were closed at Champion on Industrial Parkway with little or no notice. Monday, a spokesperson from the parent company, Revelyst, confirmed the closure. It did not, though, specifically say why the plant is closing. In a prepared statement, a Revelyst spokesperson said that they had made the difficult decision to cease operations at the facility in Richmond and that they are exploring options to sell the plant. The statement does not provide the number of employees affected, but most industry websites indicate it is under a dozen.

I know they were hard to break, but better manage they could have survived.

Champion Target Company owned by Revelyst is one of the Vista Outdoors companies. I wonder what is Vistas master plan for the future.

Bobski. The other target company is EUROTARGET made in Italy, I seen them at the Grand. Bob Schultz of Target Shotguns is importing them from Italy. They are ATA certified. The paint job on the full orange targets is far superior to White Flyer that Winchester now owns. White Flyer keeps raising the prices and needs some competition in the market place.I know the buy American spiel. My locality ended when my American company shipped my job to TAIWAN..

Shot @ "Euros" they break as good as White Flyers, their orange color really pops, the only real down side for a club owner is the packaging, it makes loading a trap machine harder and getting rid of the boxes are still harder
also, another pain you had to schedule delivery via container loads and shipping from an overseas source can be tricky

They are 3k a semi load cheaper than white flyer.
For small clubs that’s a big savings

JUST KEEP BUYING FROM SOME OTHER COUNTRY. It will not matter, because you will not have a gun to shoot at them with. Roger C.

Hello Roger. I was a Union steel worker 20 years ago.My job went overseas and I got TRA..My last Suburban was made in Mexico. My latest ride comes from Canada. My pork chops are from Smithfield,Chinese owned. If it wasn’t for Cheddite primers from France not many people would be shooting at my club.My Levi’s are not made in America. My Perazzi is from Italy. My friends KRIEGHOFF from Germany. All my clothes are from another country. Some of my vegetables are not from America. I am on the board at my volunteer club and know about finances and what it takes to pay the bills.Lots of clubs are close to the bone money wise.
Winchester Olin is not in the target, shotgun shell,or chemical business.THEY ARE IN THE MONEY MAKING BUSINESS.
The politicians have sold America out and they are on their way to bankrupt the country.

My feelings are despite whether or not I liked or preferred their product, their closing represents the loss of some of my fellow American’s jobs. In the long run the closing also eliminates an option my club may end up having needed in some unforeseen circumstances which might arise. I see no positive aspects in this and take no pleasure in their departure from the marketplace.

Palos Shooter, What is the cost on the two targets ? by the truck load. Roger C.

I don't know the cost exactly because of the shipping charges. Bob Shultz from Target Shotguns and Sunset Distributor's in Ackley Iowa handle these targets.Years ago a guy named Dean Bright owned Sunset but with the covid he went out of business because he could not get anything to sell. I guess a club could call them and get a quote. Our club would like to try a pallet or two to see how they would work out, but not a truck load. We don't know if our ATA shooters would accept these targets. Two or three thousand a truckload would look good in our bank account.

They don’t smoke like white flyers do.
Our local club got a few box’s to try.
They are definitely brighter and easier to see

Sunset Brokerage, Inc. (Distributors) has not gone out of business. We have a truckload of EURO targets ordered from them to be delivered later this month.

White Flyer have always been about $3000.00 more per truck load, delivered than all other makes. Even back in the 90's Roger C.

Euro's are made of resin, the smoke white when you hit them hard--and they won't kill your surf like Bios.

It depends on what part of the country you live in. Last check we did with trucking increase is in the ballpark of $18 per case for Blackouts… vendor didn’t have a price yet in the Eco-target. WF needs to update their status.
