My take on the Grand this year....

It's frickin hot and muggy. That makes the targets explode. Poof.

Someone said merlo is here. Why should I care about merlo? The numbers are about the same I hear. I just don't see many people the way this is laid out.

I had to take off the blinders to keep from fogging up.

Good thing or bad....the targets are easy.

 

Yesterday was nice though. Hot again today with it staying hot until Thursday it seems.

 

Why doesn't anyone wash down the buildings?

Heat will be the reason we don't have 3,000 on the GAH

 

why do all the big shoots get scheduled in the middle of the hot season? curious.

 

And what was the reason they didn't have 3000 on the big day all those other years?

Why have they NEVER had 3000 on the big day?

 

Workers,once school starts there goes the workers.

 

The shoot is up a few shooters so far. They could have 2,000 in the GAH. Maybe.

 

Weather change coming soon. From Wednesday thru the rest of the Grand the high is only in the mid 80's. No rain in the forecast also.
It is the Midwest so things can change fast. And yes, the place is big and spread out.

 

We should expect at least 4,500 shooters for the big day right? Even during the Korean War they had 2,500.

Southern IL. More like southwest. HOT!

 

The GAH may have 1900 this year. I am not an ATA hater but that move put an end to the weekend shooters.
