This might be a good time and place to share interesting comments overheard while at a Trapshoot.

IOver Heard this at the Grand. I wonder why 75% of Trapshooters from OHIO are Self Centered ASSHOLES.

Called for the target, started to move to it and SHORT SHOT it. Never caught up to it. I don't know why I do that sometimes. Makes ya feel like a real ASSHOLE when you do that, ya know?

Yep, done it a few times myself. Not only do you feel stupid after you SHORT SHOT one but then you feel like an ASSHOLE when you have to explain it to anyone that asks.

I knew a guy that did that a lot. He never missed just the last one but missed the ones he did because he SHORT SHOT them.
He did it so many times the guys were going to give him a name.

Doctor, Doctor, ? Hell, I can't remember right now. It was Doctor something.

Doctor ASSHOLE?

Maybe, that would have fit I guess.

 

Amazing a moderator gets away with this language on here.

It's funny but the 11th rule of conduct on this site says "Profanity Prohibited". Posters wouldn't surprise me using such words but a "Moderator" I would think would set an example. Forgive me Roger I forgot you are one of the super brains on this site. One of the strengths of any organization is their ability to withstand criticism. Liberals make the rules then decide they don't apply to themselves.

What I hear the most right after I shoot is "loss". Inside the clubhouse I hear did you hear they paid $2.1 million for that pole barn?

 

An All-American was picking his gun up from the rack when a guy said, "that's a pretty bad looking gun compared to those two K guns and that engraved Seitz. I mean the bluing is all worn and the stock could stand a little work." He looked at the guy and said, "this ain't no show gun, this is a working gun."

 

I run into a lot of people (shooters) who used to shoot quite a bit at the local shoots for the most part ... They are still shooting but gave up on the registered shooting in lieu of just shooting for practice and as a social get together with friends a few times a week ... It really amazes me to see the number of shooters who have picked up on the sporting clay courses but it obviously scratches that so called itch they get when they want to shoot ... The pistol, and rifle ranges have people waiting in line for their turn on the combat course but with the weather being so hot they do not usually hang around for very long ... If you ask them why they gave up on the ATA targets most of them just say they got tired of it and wanted a little change of pace and and that they got tired of waiting all day to shoot 200 targets that they now do in a couple of hours ... Hope it cools off so I can go and get a few practice rounds in and get out of the house for a few hours ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Michigan Sucks. I hear this most when talking football with Ohio State football fans at shoots. I mean 2014 National Champion Ohio State football fans. Also some Michigan State fans say the same things I've heard. Brad

 

How come these top notch Ohio shooters are afraid to travel to NY?

 

Did you tell them you don't even shoot at your own NY State Shoot? I saw a lot of New Yorkers at the OH State shoot. Great folks. A bunch stayed at our motel. If you see those guys tell 'em we said hi.

I used to go to the NYS shoot. The ATA changed the rules and took the money out of the game. Don't do much traveling now.

 

Actually saw this written on a men's bathroom stall back in the 80's at the Golden West Grand in Reno " I support Dan Bonillas."

 

The ATA took the money out of the game and NY won't allow anyone under age 12 to participate. I refuse to take my 8 yo son up there and not let him shoot!

 

NY shooters have gotten the shaft from New York State for years.

It is not the NY State Trapshooters Association fault !

It is the fault of the NY legislators, the ones who pass these stupid laws.

I am out of NY State, and damned glad.

 

Next year you will hear those were the days........the ATA.

 

I just completed my first year of ATA, and shot at every available target, at the Home Grounds, if that is what you are implying.

Are the shoots in your state as well attended as the shoot in OH you object to? And what 5 shooters are you so jealous of? It does not appear too many NY shooters attended the grand. I cannot find a major shoot outside of NY that was attended more by NY shooters than OH or PA. Why is that? You must know as you have been shooting almost a year now. lol

I have all the respect in the world for NY shooters. Your posts maybe not so much.

Bashing shooters from other states wont help your attendance.

When the Eastern Zone shoot returns to NY and sub-juniors are not allowed to vie for the All-American points that accompany that shoot-then what? For that very good reason NY sucks!!

NY shooters are usually much smarter than that. It does not look like Duff has shot out of his state. Not that it matters.

 

If anyone has ever seen mr & mrs dawgs son shoot, he is terrific, just like
his mother and of course his Dad.

He should be allowed to shoot every where.
