Post 1 & 2 Right bird. Straight away bird. Post 3 either one shooters choice. Post 4 & 5 Left bird. Straight away. There is no rule saying what you have to shoot first, BUT if you want to shoot different on 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 tell the score keeper as they will probably be looking for straight away first. Hope that makes sense.
hummmmm sounds logical. Do you have two different shot shell loads for different birds first then second?
I have tried 1 oz for first shot, didn't notice any benefit, I use my reloads 1 1/8oz between 1090 & 1145fps for both shots. Again don't notice any difference between speeds, just powder difference for each load. I use IC choke bottom barrel first shot and Modified for second shot. If you are new at doubles, watch some videos from Sunrise Productions featuring Harlan Campbell or Leo Harrison and it will give you some good insight. Then go out and try it!
I think it should be a requirement that when someone offers shooting advice they must also include what their averages are. Wouldn't want to be taking advice from someone with less then an A average. Just my own thought's.
What if the right-handed A shooter shoots them "backwards"? That won't help a new shooter. grizquad gave him some good advice
I would trust the advice of a class A shooter shooting them backwards before I would follow the advice of anyone recommending using an improved cylinder for the first shot in doubles! Name one All American that does this
The guy didn't tell him WHAT to use, just what HE used. And he also told him to watch some videos of the people that WERE top doubles shooters. Like I said, he gave the guy some good advice.
