Amateur Trapshooting Association is the Bud Light of the shotgun world

    For months we have seen the fall of the great beer "Bud Light" and the King of Beer "Budweiser". For decades we enjoyed the Bud commercials on Super Bowl Sunday. The Clydesdale Horses, the dogs, and my favorite the Donkey, were a big part of the brand.

    We even had the Bud Tent.

    Men were men, and the girls looked like girls.

    Did the marketing directors at Bud follow the ATA brand change?

    The ATA didn't model themselves after transvestites. They moved their gun loving organization to a gun hate state. Who could have known what that outcome would be? A strange fellow from Minnesota and a Delegate from Nebraska, lead the move to Illinois.

    First the ATA sent out a survey to measure a possible response. Survey said don't do it. The members clearly told the ATA that a move to a gun hate state was a bad idea. But like Bud Lite, the ATA didn't need the survey.

    Shooting in a gun hate state is just as bad to some as drinking beer from a queer blue bottle.

    Months later Budweiser is the Queen of beers. Decades later Sparta is dying. You can't give away Bud Lite and the SCTP said Sparta's free targets were too much.

    Dylan Mulvaney is still part of the program and some are considering giving the ATA Executive Director a raise.

    Delegates of the ATA would rather drink from the blue bottle than man up and lead. The Blue Bottle drinkers will meet at the yearly meeting Thursday.
