Thanks for posting the pics. As a disclaimer I don't shoot registered trap ( nor skeet nor sporting clays for that matter). I noticed a couple of things while looking at the pictures. 1). Almost everyone was shooting what I would describe as an "above entry level" gun. Even what appears to be a teenager is shooting a high dollar Krieghoff, Silver Seitz, Caesar Guerrini, etc. 2). Most seem to be shooting their guns with a custom stock. Mostly likely average cost of a custom stock is $3,000 +/-. 3). Average age, notwithstanding a few younger shooters, would seem to be in the 50's, 60's, 70's, or more. 4). Many have invested in a golf cart or side by side. Minimal cost probably $5,000 plus the cost of a trailer. My point, simply put, is this doesn't appear to be a poor young man's game (unless Dad is buying the gun, shells, paying the entry fees, all travel expenses, etc. Folks wondering why the number of shooters is declining ? Maybe items 1-4 reflect why it's difficult to attract new shooters (?). Add in the time factor, increased price of shells and/or components (when they can be found) and it compounds the problem.
