Hey Vandalia veterans …,Remember when our pals said “good luck. See you at the Bud tent.”

How many of us would go to that inclusive transgender location? Who would yell I am queer and I am here?

    Who would buy the Buds?

Now that I think about it the ATA has pushed the idea of inclusiveness with all the categories. We don’t have a tranny category. But give it time.

The ATA has transitioned from money to pink ribbons. We even have imaginary points. If we can imagine there is more than two sexes then we can pretend shooting for points is a good idea.

The sport has a history of transitioning. We had hard targets and transitioned to “soft targets”. That thanks to a closet dwelling leader from Minnesota.

Soon we will be shooting in a gun hate state.

Why did Budweiser drop sponsorship of the ATA? Roger C.

Can anyone wrap their brain around this change that is taking place? I can not understand nor condone any of it. Take a look at what type of folks are running our governments......
Our nation is being run by folks that "identify" as various things but that does not make them anything but perverts and idiots...
No wonder they are after our rights, manhood and humanity....... Larry

I remember pyramids of empty plastic cups on tables many times. There was a table occupied by a number of top dogs that had one of the biggest piles and also had pizzas delivered. Their names escape me but one of them is a founding member. Those were the best Vandallia years!

When the new owners took over (Imbev?) they stopped sponsoring a bunch of things. I don't think they sponsor the Miss Budweiser boat anymore.
They contended they were so big and popular that there was no need to sponsor and spend that much money. At first there was talk of not paying naming right on Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Their footprint in St. Louis is much smaller today than when Auggie was alive. I never cared for their product anyway. Always preferred Miller Lite. None of their products will ever be in my house. Go woke-go broke!

I agree with20. I formerly was a Bud supporter and appreciated their support of our shooting sports. I even was able to win some of their added money in the Bud Handicaps. When they sold to a foreign corporation I pretty much quit supporting them. Now it usually Yuengling that is preferred by this old fellow who spent a few evenings in the Bud stand at Vandalia. Actually a pretty regular attendee.

As I think more about this Bud deal it really seems very stupid that they would spit in the face of the type of people who have supported them over the years. I guess they must think that the girly guys need compete with the women? Overall it seems to me that our country is in a very scary time We better wake up before the comocrats have us sold all the way down the river.

After promoting a man that plays dress up and acts like a teenage girl in an atempt to make fun of real women to promote Budweizer I wouldent get outta the electric chair to drink one.

What's the big deal? I thought everyone already knew that people who drank Bud Light were queer?

The reason that Budweiser left the grand was that Carson Woods was the new Margeting guro for the ATA about 1993 or 94 somewhere in that time period and he put Coors Beer in the Beer tent when Bud was giving the grand 100 grand for the shoot.

This kind of sounds like the chick VP for bud sales today doesn't it.

Quite a few strange things happened to promotions and potential sponsors around that time. My understanding of Budweiser’s exit is as Brad says. I actually wondered if anyone else knew. CW was a disaster. Another occurrence I couldn’t understand, a couple of years later a delegate friend, not from my state, gifted me with a gross of the neatest oiler pens made by locktite. He had more than one box and said he was present when the ATA marketer refused to allow locktite to GIVE them to shooters during preliminary days. The company representative just told him to do whatever he wanted with them. Locktite wanted in the worst way to become a sponsor and wanted to give shooters free stuff but weren’t allowed. Still wonder why, maybe they didn’t adequately gift the office holders. That was the last time I heard of locktite associated with trapshooting.
Ended up giving the oilers away as entry gifts that fall and winter. Often wonder how many other decisions which were not in the interest of the shooter’s enjoyment have been made over the years.

Lets go back to some good old day stuff. Loctite did give give free stuff to shooters, security,ATA reps, and workers. Remember the fancy semi and trailer full of products to give away. The line of people getting free things went past the Bud tent . (Dave had to push he way through) All trophy winners and ATA office staff were given a box of products. I filled them myself. Loctite also donated added money to the Grand and Ohio State Shoot. When back stabbers and ass kissers get involved, things go down the drain. Like the racing and shooting promotions. I WONDERED IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT REMEMBERED THE UNDER THE TABLE DEALINGS THAT INFECTED THE OFFICE STAFF BACK THEN.
When the EC started making deals that favored them, the membership suffered. Roger C.

If my memory serves me correctly wasn't there a story about a runaway golf cart that was found hiding in the Loctite trailer? Maybe you remember something about that and possibly you could fill us in about that story? LOL. By the way I still am using some of those great Loctite products.
A shame that program got all screwed up.

Dave the golf cart was abandoned near the highway across from that ice cream place. So to keep it safe we kept it Loc ed tite for the night. Fred Bischel, security people and a police officer were in front of the security office next to the trailer when I gave him the cart back. You should have seen their faces. Fred laughed and cussed me out and said he would get even. The Tournament Director, John Norris thanked me for the support from Loctite and said we were welcome back next year. He also told me that I was near the top of the bad guy list and hoped I got it out of my system. I told him I did not know what he was talking about. Security officers always saved a parking space for me and when I arrived the next year they pointed out the tow truck that Fred had arranged for my truck but I drove the Loctite truck and they did not want to tow it to the west end impound area. It was fun. Bob Friede
