Can anyone identify this round?

    These came from the home of a gun club member who died during Covid. It looks to be about a .45/10mm slug inside a thick brass casing. There is no primer/powder only a small hole at the bottom of the casing.
    I don’t have a prize for the winner, but you get my appreciation if you can tell me what this is.
