This is actually a Gold Target. These we done long before they cheapened them up and called them Monarch's. Gold Targets have the broken target top latch the Monarch's do not. And from my understanding they engraver's did not "sign" these which is hard to believe considering the amount of engraving on them. This is a twin to my avatar.
Beautiful receiver! The guns were only "signed" if done by a Master Engraver. (at the time) This is per Krieghoff in Germany. Paul in Virginia
MCTS, how are you doing? ANY Krieghoff can have the broken target top latch. The Gold Target Monarch I know of looks like this.
Gene, as usual a very nice piece. If you are selling it you know you need a price Flyersarebest Moderator
Tried to edit the first post-- it is about $11,000 below what the last one Dupont sold for $29,000 --- mine is better than that one also-- nitrided and hardly any sign of use and $18,000
Dave I had a gunsmith inspect this and replace springs a few years ago. It was rarely shot before I purchased it and I haven’t shot it Here is a great comparison-- notice the lack of engraving and sculpting on the trigger guard Barely any engraving on the top hood and no gold target Go to Paxton Arms -- there is a comparison for a lot more money and a lot less for that money This is sold so not a link to sell only a comparison
Compare this to the shallow and sparse engraving on Gold Superscrolls or Plantations Shooters will walk across the parking lot to see what you have there
Gene are u excepting. Any trades. Kolar skeet 30" tubes set , can u please send me the serial number. And a pic of the breach. Very interested ....
Pretty much as if it just came out. Like a babies bottom. Serial numbers as you might know don’t matter much if at all on the higher engraved guns although the do matter on the standard grades, Supes rolls, plantations. Etc Dupont sold nearly a twin to this for 10K more. Note the water table is smooth also
Gene always has NICE stuff and is a trusted seller. I have always been happy dealing with him as have my friends! Paul in Virginia
You should sell that Kolar and just put that money towards this . I know you have that slightly used Remington 1100 20 gauge and asking $2200 for it but not interested Gene
Is it just my eyes or is there something up with the right side of the trigger guard? Dent or something it appears like in 2 pics.
Lol. It is a sculpted trigger guard so it is easier to slide your finger in and so the side of the trigger guard doesn’t rub A high level upgrade as it is hard to engrave inside that For a right hander
Congrats Gene, I have been watching this for some time on the other networks and wishing I would have dropped the hammer long ago on this one, glad you got it sold, was wondering if you could get the new owner to post some pics somewhere of the completed gun!!
