IMHO- two American super stars one in Hollywood , the other in sports military exploits have been overlooked. 1) Ted Williams fought in WWll and Korea, his wingman was John Glenn, Glenn said "Williams was the best fighter pilot he ever saw-Ted managed to crash land his damaged Panther jet & walk away 2)Jimmy Stewart-led over 20 bombing missions over Germany And today people are considering Tom Cruise, the best super hero Not even close to anyone who has served in combat
Could anyone imagine what Ted William's stats would have been if he hadn't spent 5 years in service ?
Sadly the term "hero" is thrown around so liberally like any other participation trophy that the word is almost meaningless. A person who sacrifices their life or puts it in danger for the well-being of others is the definition of a hero. A man who decides one day to put on a dress and make-up is not a hero!
