Bot 5000 Noble Sport 209 primers for the first time. They came on 5 separate plates of 1000 primers each. These plates are like 2 feet long and 1 foot wide. How do I load these primers into my MEC 9000 G primer feed without transferring them 1 primer at a time?

You can't. You have to transfer them. Take them out and put them in a 100 primer tray and go from there.

I use Nobel primers and all mine have come in 100 trays, 10 per box. Never seen the 1k plate, that would suck

Been there, done that. After a while, dropping 1/2 of the 1,000 sheet and putting into old 100 ea primer trays doesn't take a lot of time really.

Get some refrigerator magnet material slightly larger than a 100 count primer tray so you can transfer primers from the 1000k tray to the smaller primer tray 100 at a time.
Requires a steady hand and you might have to use 2 to 3 layers of the sheet magnet material for an adequate hold.
YMMV but this method works for me.

I don't think there's a way you can do that without transfering them.

At least you found some primers, the only problem with Noble there large and you will have to reuse them in the shell you use.

  8. Put the primers in a clear plastic bag (I use a wad bag) and then put in a 100 plastic holder and shake the bag. In most cases I get 95% of the primers to fall into place and I then load the rest by hand. Not ideal but works and does not take that long.

Hopefully he figured it out by now.

I ended up with them like that also I dumped one whole plastic tray of them into a flat Tupperware pan and then I raked them across the top of 100 round primer tray and like he said 95% of them will fall in takes about 30 seconds to do one 100 tray

Very interesting find at Recobs - Had a sheet posted from Downrange, testing their wads in their lab, using 11 different primers-same load --Pressure and velocity's --Average of five shots each. Cheddite had 9504 psi. with 1262 fps. --- Noble had 6888 psi with 1212 fps.

BTW, you can’t transfer to a Cheddite 100 primer tray using this method because the spacing is off. A Federal 100 primer tray’s spacing matches up perfectly for me though.

    Jon,
Thanks for pointing this out. I was using empty NS primer trays and had not considered spacing differences. Winchester 209 primer trays work as well.

I can’t find any reloading data for Nobel sport 209 primers. What would they be most compared to? I currently load with cheddite primers. My supplier has the Nobel sports available in the commercial trays for a good price. Thanks for the help!

Winchester 209 data works with Nobel Sport 688. Been using them for over a year now and no issues other than they enlarge the primer pocket and that Nobel Sport primer load now makes that hull a Nobel load only.

I glued the refrig sheet magnet to the bottom of of a Winchester tray. Only way I could transfer from Noble tray to a Winchester tray consistently. Magnet was too flimsy to lift by itself.

  18. I've been using Noble Sport primers for a couple years now and have loaded thousands in 12ga light skeet and trap loads. Using 13.5gr of Titewad and 7/8 oz, the pressure was low and the velocity tightly grouped around 1150. Very pleasant to shoot for an old guy.
