Well I finally shot my first 100 straight on Sunday at the Edmonton City Championship, I have had numerous 98's and 99's but never managed to get the 100, it was smooth and I never really got that Knott in my stomach until the last post which happened to be post 3, had to take a couple deep breaths and just try to convince myself to see the target and break the target, I smoked the last 5, ink balls. I never started shooting registered trap until I was 61 years old and it took me 7 years to finally break through, I still suck at doubles but my singles and my handicap are going along pretty smooth, got to work on my doubles, as is customary the boy's shredded my hat so I guess I have to buy a new straw hat, no worries.
I think I may have found the perfect spot to hang my shot up hat, with one of my other favorite trophies " Eddie The Elk " I see it every day when I park in the garage
I recently starred shooting some rifle and pistol leagues where they hand out medals for the first 3 places and I was lucky enough to win some- I will have some hanging off of my deer/elk mounts soon too. PS- nice elk!
Nope that wasn't " Eddies " lucky day, In September will be 30 years since I took that Elk, 542 paces with a 338 WM. I have taken more than a few since but never one like him, glad I had him done and stuck up on the wall, it will have to be a dandy before I get another one done, I saw a beauty of a 6 x 7 a couple years ago but never managed to get a clean shot at him, he was a dandy.
