If Vandalia was still kicking, would shooters flock to the old home grounds in this economy?

Probably more then Sparta just because it's closer to the hub of shooters . I don't know if ''flock'' is the appropriate word due to all the crap going on.

I would definitely be going. I have not attended a grand since it moved to Illinois. It's a much longer drive to Sparta.

Vandalia, was a shooter paradise, Sparta, is a management flop. The smartest in the room, murdered the great sport of trap shooting. Are you proud of what you have accomplished? You all know of who I am referring to. Roger C.

"If Vandalia was still kicking, would shooters flock to the old home grounds in this economy?" ......

Should be an easy hypothetical to figure out ......

What was the "Vandalia" attendance/participation numbers in the 1970's with gas shortage garbage, high unemployment, and low wages ??????

What was the "Vandalia" attendance/participation numbers in the 1980's with record inflation, high unemployment, and low wages ??????

What was the "Vandalia" attendance/participation numbers in the 1990's with a recession, high unemployment, and low wages ??????

Then we get to the 2000's, when the never was or never will be self-serving greedy people were allowed to sink the ship ......

So, the short answer should be 'yes' ..... and the "economy" seems to have far less impact, than destroying a once great sport from the 'inside' ......

Yes, I would be going and no I am not going this year. Just not enough " Bang" for the buck!!! The added distance is really going to rear it's ugly head with higher gas prices and the ATA is going to feel the pain for the choice they made in moving the Grand away from the " hub" of trapshooting.

  9. 2003 was my last year at Vandalia. If the Grand was still there I would have attended every year from then to now.
I have heard that Sparta is a very nice facility but I'll never know. I wouldn't go if the ATA was handing out free Perazzis on every corrner, and I like Perazzis.

Were going like always. I only got so many times I can shoot with my Sons. We are skipping Pre Lim week this year to save on costs. Just going to shoot the 1k Grand Week targets. Figuring on 1k in diesel to haul the camper there and back.
