It was a good idea while it lasted Tear the whole thing down cause the ''Big dogs'' are going to take your money...shot curtain or no shot curtain.
Looks like it worked like it’s suppose to. The curtain can’t handle 80+ mph winds so it’s designed to have rings let go. I’m sure they are repairing as we speak and everything will be good to go come time for State Shoot.
Those repairs have to be very expensive. May not be financially affordable to continue their use. Was the Cardinal mandated to use those or was it a private business decision? Shame there isn't some way to raise those onlu when in use.
And the ensuing lawsuit if someone got injured or worse. Just think of all the calamity had this would have happened during one of Cardinals big shoots.
Banks 5 thru 10 are repaired. Banks 10 thru 12 should be repaired by the end of today (6/15). Banks 1 thru 4 should be repaired by the state shoot. I just hope we don't get any storms like this one during the state shoot !!!
I'm sure it's all about easier reclamation of the lead. I'm guessing there are some of our tax dollars involved.
I don't know where "grant" money comes from but here is a partial statement I found in about 8 seconds on google. "Fishburn was also presented an Ohio EPA grant for $194,000 at the ceremony. He was every bit as enthusiastic about this grant given to Cardinal Center as he was about the personal award. The grant will go toward purchasing a more efficient lead shot recovery system for the Cardinal Shooting Center. When Ohio EPA Director, Craig Butler presented the grant award, he noted that the new lead recovery system will increase the lead shot collection from the present rate of 40 percent to 90 percent recovery or more. The Cardinal Shooting Range will be able to reduce potential environmental contamination and improve the lead shot collection process through the new and more efficient “Shot Block System.” Butler emphasized that this new system is “not cheap." The Cardinal Center has committed to matching the EPA grant with $534,269."
Shoot, we have nearly 700 coming Monday for the State SCTP Day. I'm more interested in that right now. We may get another big storm between now and July and they may have to do it all over again.
If that is a true statement.....THAT is impressive. With all the BS product and labor shortages, if they are capable of that kind of turn around on a repair of that volume.....I'd stand by them. Whoever "they" are, thank you.
