I just read what I think is the most shocking quote I could ever read on a trapshooting forum. So shocking I had to create another thread. This quote from ATA President Wagner to OSTA President Cogan: Jeff Wagner, then President of the ATA, tell me that the reason most shooters enter registered events is to accumulate All American points for recognition on an ATA All American Team .
I guess that makes me part of the minority. FY------I wont be going to Wagner's home town to collect those ATA points.
Wagner has been recycled as a VP. This is the attitude of the ATA execs. What is the surprise? Most that go to Sparta, the home of Wagner, have to go there to get their ATA points. That is why the grounds are laid out the way they are. There is no midway. No gathering place. The vendors are separated. Wagner and that group of cronies are separated from the rest of us. PA, OH, and MD home grounds are all laid out better.
In the end in a way Wagner will be somewhat right. You go to Sparta to get ATA points. The weekend warriors aren't and won't be going. This may be Wagner's justification for the status quo of the shoot he calls grand. The leaders of the heartland of trapshooting get it. They know their customer base.
AH Man, just when I thought we were done with this stuff. Anybody remember that line from Godfather lll? "Just When I thought I was out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN." Flyersarebest, But I am still a Trap Shooter.
It looks as if it were copied and pasted exactly from another thread from someone involved in the conversation. I have a huge amount of respect for the original poster.
We deleted a bunch of posts. Only because they were off the topic. No disrespect was intended for the posters. M1
M1 your little blurb "Post often & post with confidence" obviously doesn't mean what it says. Posts correcting what some said Wagner did are removed (thread is about Wagner). But you leave those of User1, Flyerarebest, Wishbone and others who have no connection. Where is fairness? Lefty
Leftout, The posts relating to San Antonio and Jeff Wagner designing the layout were removed. You can be removed also. If you want that topic you may start one. Please review the rules of the forum. M1
Lefty don't feel bad, My post got deleted also. Just a bit of advice, you are better off to PM a mod, instead of calling him out in public. Have a good day, John.
Bumping this thread. This forum got this right years ago. Now another ATA dummy president repeats the same failing philosophy.
Is that the same Mr. Wagner that stopped the shoot in Tucson because the doubles TARGET WERE TO TOUGH? INQUIRING MINDS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW. How did all of this incompatence end up leading the ATA? Roger C.
