My mec 9000 keeps breaking a part called a handle bolt. It is listed at part 31 on the parts list of a 9000 G on the MEC website. I have been buying grade four bolts and they still only last 4 to 6 months before breaking. Any suggestions?
If the machine is older, it might be time to strip the upper die head off the main shaft then clean and re-grease accordingly. All your pivoting bolts need to be free of excess slop but not so tight as to not be able to spin them with your fingers. If you do strip it down, look for elongated holes in the linkage and handle assembly. If those holes are egged out its putting undue extra force on the bolts.
Did you try calling Mec for advice? They may have a solution to what is causing this problem. Good luck
