Will Sparta Be Closed by Illinois? You have a vote!

Will the state of Illinois close Sparta?

 

Got news from a friend that know this barber that talks to lots of people. He says the ATA has sent a letter to the delegates implying the place could be closed temporarily or permanently.

The barber also said a major gun manufacturer that is on the site at Sparta is requesting to double the size of their building on the Cardinal Center grounds.

 

I have to see it to believe that,

Will Sparta be closed is any bodys guess ... The Government of the State of Illinois is not stable or consistant therefore what they would end up doing is anyones guess ... The Voters are the ones who will force the issues eventually, in the mean time I do not think there is anything that will be done and or accomplished ... The "POLLs" are nonsense and are meaningless, if anyone wants something to mean anything they need a petition with massive amounts of signatures on it and it has to go to the right people or its just as meaningless, out of state signatures and undocumented or unregistered voters don't count either ... If the people of the State of Illinois so not want the WSRC closed the ball is in their court, no one elses ... If the WSRC does get closed it because of the people from the State of Illinois who let it happen ... The ATA can only do what would benefit or not benefit the membership in the long run in trying to preserve the Grand American where ever it might be or end up ... Investing the members money with no way of it paying off would not be a prudent move so investing in the WSRC should be out of the question ... They cannot afford to purchase, or operate same without putting the Assocaition at risk ... Figure it out for yourself, best case scenario they lose if they break even, which is very doubtfull ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

What is "grand"? Bury it. Get back to shooting trap.

 

They won't close it completely this year or next year.
They may close it when not in use ie after Sept 1.

I am looking forward to this years Grand.
But for the more then 90% of ATA members that don't attend the Grand I don't think they will worry much about it.

The Grand has a history of moving and we even have money in the bank this time.
If we move it will be interesting to see where we end up next.

Merlo, Merlo, Merlo, you have to stop aggravating those all powerful, all-knowing leaders of the Kool-Aid brigade. Unable to find you during your recent undercover operation in Sparta they have formed a re-education squad to find you and get your thinking realigned with the official spoken word. These re-education squads can be quite nasty as they do what they're told without the slightest thought to truth or the American way. Stay low, get back to Sparta and this time don't mingle with the SO's, to big a chance of running into the Kool-Aid drinkers.
