Want to buy Winchester or Cheddite 209 primers

Tom - in same boat, but even if someone has them, shipping primers is quite a challenge lately. Might suggest your state so people know FTF. Just a thought.

It is what it is brother! I am thinking about driving to Northern california to swap a guy powder for primers. 10 hours round trip for 5,000 primers!

 

Im looking in the Northern California /Northern Nevada area.

Hi Tom, the problem is what the cost is now from people that have them. I watched two 5000 cases on Gun Brokers, one sold for $700 with a buy at $700 the other had no restrictions and sold for $750's now with shipping and haz-mat that's about $800 to $810 per 5000 case... sounds high but boxes of 1000 are selling for $200 which is $1000 a case... be thankful your not a Pistol shooter because small and large pistol primers I've seen priced at 5X what people are asking for 209's... Don

 

Sounds like it is time to take inventory and clean up/out the reloading room.

Just a heads up on shipping primers. The UPS website states that there is a $19.50 "hazmat" fee added to the price of shipping. Problem is they HAVENT UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE.

I called and actually spoke to a person in their hazmat department. I was told you have to be "certified" to ship any hazmat item, like primers. You can take the test online.

Oh, OK, and when I pass the test how much does that cost? Says I.

I just sold a little over 18,000 rifle and pistol primers to a guy that drove 2-1/2 hours to pick them up. I didn't even have to tell him what I wanted. He told me he would pay $100.00 per thousand.
Worked for me.
