My sources say there is some pressure to move everything to Linn Creek. Is there a better place?

    I report. You decide.

Never be a renter when you can own. Linn Creek is not the club to be the ATA home grounds. The present EC is not qualified to make any decisions about where the home grounds should be. Look at their record, if they were in private industry, they would definately be fired for incompetitance, and most likely charged with miss apropreation of funds, They are a very good example of the blind leading the blind. Also a very poor example of honesty ans open policy with the mambers. Their need to know actions are deplorable. Roger C.

Sure, why not? Give ILLNEWS the notice they need. Pull up stakes. Move everything to MO, including the HOF. Move all the stuff in the HOF, I think gipson could probably find a building or a contractor to build a new one and let IILNEWS keep the building to do whatever they want with it.

After all, THEY OWN it. LOL

Members won't find anything out until AFTER it has happened.

Question for the masses: If there is an outstanding balance on the LOAN for the THOF barn, and they pull up stakes and move, would the THOF still be on the hook for the balance, or would the State of Illinois have to pay it off since they own it ?

I don't know, since there is no deed with the building other than State owned property.

I voted Yes only because the Cardinal Center bridge is still smoking.

Didn’t trap wife say she had a plan? Or did she say the ATA has a plan. So what’s the plan?

From what I hear the CC isn’t going to want it. Where else? No one thinks Linn Creek is the first choice!

Trap who, oh her being as she has all the answers because her husband was the "Biggest Winner" or no one would of paid her any mind ... The ATA making a move to any place other than where they are now is or would be an improvement after an adjustment period, that goes without saying ... Now, that they have managed to run off a majority of the Members the ATA had better do something and not take another 14 years to do it ... It will be interesting to see how the Folks at Linn Creek handle the shoot, they have experience over the years with their fall handicap shoot so have to see how it goes ... There does not seem to be a lot of scuttlebutt from all of the shooters who reside in Sparta but all 3 or 4 of them are probably beside them self ... Wish all those involved the best of luck, hope it works out for them ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The obvious place would be Cardinal Center unless Mr Fishburn put the ka bosch on that (my opinion) ...

Hey guys do not dice Trap Wife. She did a good job when at the ATA in Sparta. She left because of their bull shit of no bid contracts and preference of people to buy from. I think that covers it all, read between the lines. Roger C.

No Roger. That doesn’t cover it. Trap wife implied there is a plan.

stelts, YES that does cover it. When you do not know what you are talking about it is time to shut up. If she knew of a plan she had nothing to do with the make up of it. If you have a problem with the lady take it up with her, this is not the place to try and disparage a person. Roger Coveleskie

The Geographic Center of the Contiguous United States is located about two miles northwest of Lebanon, Kansas. How about someplace centerally located so all shooters would be traveling about the same ? And I don't want to hear from crybabys who won't go 600 miles because they are still pouting after 14 years ! The ata is dieing a slow death because of the crooks who think they own it and the lack of intrest of members who would rather bitch about it rather than devote the time to fix it.

And the shoot in August that used to be the Grand has had pathetic numbers since they moved from where?

Imagine a pattern board in the shape of the United States, now put a pellet strike at every location where a shooter lives.
Now do a pellet count to find center...no where close to Kansas. A graph would be nice.

    NICE example Rookie.

One thing though, the graphmaster would have told you it all depended on the shot size..... 7-1/2's or 8's?

"And I don't want to hear from crybabys who won't go 600 miles because they are still pouting after 14 years"

I always love that tired crap statement that anyone that doesn't go to that White elephant of a place in ILLnews was a "crybaby". As far "pouting"? They aren't pounting.

They show their opion of the move very simply, they don't go to that outpost. I think that the majorty of them still shoot quite a bit (meat shoots, games, leagues, etc), but they don't bother with even the local registered shoots. WAY less of these shoots anyway since the reason you shot them was to get ready for the Grand in Vandalia.

No reason to shoot registered targets if you aren't going to the big dance. Big dance in BFE. Why bother.

You made my point Flyersarebest. I agree that the ata leadership is corupt and that sparta was the wrong decision from day one. I also noticed you did not care to comment on the part that identifed the real problem. The ata is dieing a slow death because of the crooks who think they own it and the lack of intrest of members who would rather bitch about it rather than devote the time to fix it

Even traveling 1,200 miles to a trapshoot doesn't faze us. As long as there's plenty to do other than cooking cheap hot dogs and drinking beer next to a trailer parked in the middle of nowhere we'll be there. So the ATA screwed the pooch and moved to somewhere few shooters ever plan to visit is now their problem. They continue to make a mockery of the broken handicap system while denying top shooters need a few more yards of concrete to encourage the little peasants more participation. Then they devise some silly point system that awards mediocre shooters in even more meaningless categories berths on an All-American team instead of money for wins. The ATA's path forward is littered with landmines of their own making.

You are correct, I didn't comment on the crooks because I know things will not change and I'm at the point in my life I don't care if they change. It serves the Kool-Aid drinkers right. If you want to pay the dues and fees and have to go to that outpost great, I don't. The ata started it's death spiral when they moved the most anticipated shoot of the year, EVERY year, away from the MAJORITY OF THE SHOOTERS.

As I said in my earlier posts, "I didn't leave the ata, the ata left me"

    CCRidr,
The ATA by design is not open to the involvement of the shooters to make things better or improve the operations other than by those who have gotten to be in higher places (ED, EC, and many on the BOD ) thus eliminating any possibility and all forms of corruption ... The Chosen Ones (ED, EC, and many on the BOD ) take full advantage of being taken cares of, having expenses paid, and being catered to at bigger shoots while supposedly being there to represent the Membership, yet they find ways to avoid them as much as possible ... The Line for the new gun on an annual basis is established by them being one of the Good Ol" Boys and not stepping on each others toes if they know what is good for them ... The ED has to have something on the members of the EC and some of the BOD or he would of been gone a long time ago rather than reap in big money for doing little or nothing ... If and when all of the corruption gets exposed and prosecuted the Association will be able to make a clean break and get back to being what it was designed to be in the first place by the Founding Fathers ... There are barely enough members who care to make any difference any more so the Swamp just keeps getting more and more corrupt ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

ccrider, maybe we should just ignore you posts. The ATA is now set up NOT to include any members thoughts or actions that could improve the organization. Check out the chain of command, members not included. Roger C.
