Missouri and $20 million for the ATA

It was reported here earlier that the Missouri Governor had said they could come up with $20 million to improve Lynn Creek so that it would be suitable for hosting the grand.

It is also reported that the ATA is asking for bids to hold the flagship shoot.

Would anyone want to match that? How do you measure that offer? So is there really a bid process? Is the fix in?

Would you even want Sparta if that was the case?

And what about the vendor bidding process in Sparta?

Questions I can't answer. Time is running out.....again.

    I report. You decide.

I think the bigger question is, "Why would any red-blooded American who wholeheartedly stands behind the 2nd Amendment and who strongly supports the vendors who have always supported them give two shits what ATA and their pimp Illinois do." Nobody in their right mind would ever believe that either ATA or Illinois are in a position of strength. The only people who might believe that nonsense surely suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. ATA should pay for the privilege of conducting a shoot at any club anywhere in the world. They pay Illinois, don't they? ATA has shit the bed. They ain't doing anybody any favors by bringing their dog and pony show to a venue outside of Illinois.

If $20 million isn't enough money, I have another $15 dollars. If any of you EC members are paying attention. The total for improvements at Lynn Creek is now $20 million and 15 dollars.

Don't thank me....I am donating to help my friends in Ohio.

    Put the Grand in Missouri!

Do you mean to say that the shooters in Ohio don't want to host the Grand?

The limited number of facility's with the ability to host the shoot (Grand) should be asking the ATA how much they are willing to pay to be able to put the shoot on as well as have guidelines so the Club will maintain the power and not be mini managed by the ATA and or ATA officials, EC, ED, or any of the BOD ... I cannot imagine any of the bigger facilities do not already have their shoot schedule calendar already filled unless they would be willing to alter their operation to host the grand ... If by chance Linn Creek profited to the point it would be worth it for them, let them hold the ATA's azz to the fire and make them pay or continue on with business as usual ... I cannot help but think moving the shoot was not preplanned long before the membership heard about it, with the exception of the vendors which would only be right so they could make alternate plans if they had to ... The Corona Virus might just of been the most justifiable excuse the State of Illinois could ever have to escape adding to its deficit any longer ... The Facility (State Recreational Park) over all has added to the States deficit to the tune of over 25 million dollars for the time in operation and never once broke even based on the figures that were available at one time ( that is when I quit bothering looking it up ) ... If any of the facility's with the ability take the shoot it should and could be a money maker, probably get better over time if it gets established in another location ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Truth, It is not a mater of not wanting the grand, they do not need the grand. C.C. has a full slate of well attended shoots, why would they want to cancel any of them to bail out the incompatent ATA . The E.C. has tha ATA on life support because of their poor judgement and operational malfeasence. I think it is time for their gravy train to leave the station with out them in the engine. Why did Fishburn go to Sparta to discuss an offer to host the Grand? I'm confused.

truth, could be token jester to raise the offers from other venues. Much like when NFL teams claim to have interest from other teams when dealing overpriced veteran players, ginning up the interest.

Mr Fishburn / Cardinal Center went there to try and give them a hand and help bail them out of an already bad situation that has compounded over the past 15 years, not to mention the future existence of the ATA ... The longer they wait the worse it will get until no body who is able will give them the time of day let alone attempt to bail them out ... The ATA is not what the ED, EC, and BOD think they are ( once was) any longer because a majority of the membership no longer trusts any of them based on their own actions over the past 20 plus years ... They are the ones who turned the membership against them not the other way around as they say and try to place blame on everyone but themselves ... The State of Illinois will bull doze the place like they have several other over the years and write it off as a loss ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

That was a few years ago. Jack is a gentleman. They received a big award from White Flyer while out there.

They were warned by Ohio shooters not to trust the Sparta thugs. That was the third time they stabbed Jack in the back.

Last year Gipson was told $50 a hundred. LOL. I hear Gipson didn’t even call back.

Only one in nine targets thrown in Ohio are registered. Registered shooting is an after thought in Ohio. I agree with keeping the creeps out west. Ohio has Ohio and PA shooters. Not counting the kids that is 2/3 of the shooters.

Don’t be sad Truth. Stay out west with your pals. You guys are doing great at Missouri. Or is it Sparta? Or do we care? Still confused?

If a Majority does not trust them then why do they not do something to change it? A majority would be able to seize power. A majority being 50.1% or more of the members.

What parks have closed and been bulldozed? I can't seem to recall any, I did a very brief search on google and it came up empty.

That could be the second silliest post I have ever seen here. But, that's OK, I'll give you the true answer. Ya'see, it was like this....Mr. Fishburn had a couple of million tucked away in an old canvas sack, and he was worried and didn't quite know what else to do. So he flew out to Sparta in his Lear and begged all those Hi-Rollers to bring the "Grand" back to Ohio. He said the canvas sack was just a down payment and that he could come with some serious "large" if they'd just let him be the host. He even said he would personally GI the shitcans and every third burger would be free. Well, guess what? They stiffed him. Told him if he couldn't spring that they'd take their business elsewhere, and more besides, they were looking for Rib Eyes, BPs, and wedges of lettuce drowning in Blue Cheese dressing. Dude, they busted him. They took a fine man and just broke it of in him, and then they went out and told everybody he was a piker. See?

    Still confused?

It just seems odd that the majority would keep shooting events and paying entry fees for something that they don't care about. Not any parks have been closed that I can find actually. Wasn't the meigs field thing a Daley deal?

Go to The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Web Site and type "closures" in the search box in the upper right hand corner. Don't wear your Rose Colored Glasses.

I did, and all of those are normal closures or covid related temporary restrictions or normal restrictions due to construction or hunting or seasonal. You may want to put your glasses on...

No, I just want you to write what is true. If the majority of the members do not like what is going on or don't care it seems odd that they would still keep coming to events and still pay to be members (those that are not life members). I would just like some to admit or amend there comments to speak the truth.

It's this easy. There have been no state parks closed permanently and bulldozed. That should be clear enough for a village idiot.

    Brad,

That statement is blatantly untrue. Are you a person who makes blatantly untrue statements and then tries to bullshit his way out of them? You made a false statement. Admit it. It's that easy. Everybody here knows your statement was false. A bunch of silly double talk will not change the fact that your statement was false. Are you man enough to admit it?

Explain how my statement is untrue when taken with the context of WPT quote that The State of Illinois will bull doze the place like they have several other over the years and write it off as a loss. The state has not closed any other park or facility and bulldozed it. I don't know how to make it any more clear than that. I will gladly admit that you can not understand the context of the quote being made within the thread discussion.

    Brad ,
Back when I lived in Illinois besides the State and City of Chicago Bull dozing Meigs Field , I can recall off the top of my head 3 possibly 4 Forest Preserve Districts or more ( State recreation areas) that got locked, chained, and no trespassing signs posted at every entrance which was strictly enforced by the State Police, Local Law enforcement, and Forest Rangers, (ask me how I know ) not one of them ever re opened ... I know this to be a fact because I know several people besides myself who used to visit them often ... The State of Illinois is involved in many other ventures beside the place you work in Sparta, you can go on the States web site and verify that till the cows come home ... I quit following anything to do with the State of Illinois wed site and up date when I quit caring about it which is before your time, there are actually or were 9 State Recreational Areas beside the Forest Preserve Districts, several have been closed for what ever reason, they are still closed ...Two of them that were bull dozed and eliminated were in Des Plaines, Ill, another on Irving Park and Cumberland Ave, There were 3 maybe 4 along the Des Plaines River and Illinois Chain of Lakes region, there are others but I can't recall their exact locations besides I do not give history lessons so look them up for your self and don't just say it didn't happen because it did, though you may not know it ... Now go back under your Rock Boy ... Where did I put my toaster ..? WPT ... (YAC) ....

Hard for me to believe Missouri would invest that kind of money giving the past results of one State East.
Chances of Fed. monies are nil.
Not to take anything from Lynn Creek but 20 mil. ?

I'd really like to find out which ones, I can't seem to find any info on any. Your toaster is on your counter I would imagine. Grab a bagel or some toast and see what you can turn up. I'd love to find out if the state closed any other facility like Sparta and bulldozed it. I would gladly apologize for making an untruthful statement.

Honestly I think if they did, a lot the money would come from the surrounding area, During the summer that whole area is very busy, lots of tax revenue. It's big money that have lake homes, and a big money economy there. The Chamber and the whole area there was very inviting and helpful. Lots of good people down there. Not to say Sparta doesn't have a lot of good people too. In todays economy how far will 20 million really go? There would need to be an additional campground put in, new club house?, more infrastructure. I'm biased for Sparta because I am here and I think its a great facility, Missouri is a great venue with a very good staff, Ohio is as well from what I here. I will agree that the vendors are the life blood of larger events and sponsorship's, when you make them angry, everyone loses.

    Brad,
Everyone agrees that the WSRC in Sparta, Ill is the Creme de le creme (?) of shooting facility's but it can't draw a crowd so what good is it ..? The last time I looked or last time I was involved with a facility there was a crowd 10 deep at the bar and counter, don't even want to mention the classification section where we had at least 3 and many times 4 people classifying so we could get the shooters on their squads and off to the races, the lines still ran out the door ... The Facility compared to the WSRC in Sparta was a shit hole and totally out dated but man could it draw a crowd ... (Opening day we made a deposit at our bank of over $285,000.00 in cash and checks / that was not the biggest deposit we made that week ) ... You keep saying you are going to make changes, you keep getting told you are 15 years to late being as it is established and shows Pathetic numbers, become stagnant over those years ... I do not know you, never met you but for the sake of discussion lets say you are very determined, talented, energetic, hard working, extremely street smart, really special person like your Mother probably always said you were, that does not change the fact that you showed up 15 years to late even if you got more changed in the first week you were there its not enough to change what has been established ... One of the Genius's said "Built it and they will come" , they built it and must of forgot to tell everyone where it was because no body came ... Good Luck, Best of Luck, have fun, enjoy, do what you got to do but you are wasting your time ... If everything I mentioned in describing you is accurate, your talents are being wasted .... WPT ... (YAC) ...
