Illinois to vendors - too low - building will stay empty - or adjust paperwork. $$$

Some vendors with low bids are being told to rebid. But not exactly. The wording is to re submit your paperwork and rebid. As if there was something wrong with the paperwork. Wink wink. Not necessarily the low bid. Winky wink.

I have from a good source that Illinois would rather leave a building sit empty than accept a low bid.

    I report. You decide

You can bet your Bippy if they do not rent, sell, or get people to pay it will be the straw that breaks the Camels back and probably the end for the facility ... Illinois cannot afford to take another hit financially ...

WPT, you're forgetting the two Magic Words:

    GATE FEE!

At that point, the Lemmings will take over for the vendors, bend over, assume the position, and take full responsibility for doling out copious amounts of the Communist Party's badly needed blood money.

It's very reassuring to find that integrity is no longer important.

    Empty buildings? No problem
The ata pays the state the rental fee the state wants then rents out the building to a vender for a lower rate.
Sure it cost the ata money but they make it up with a “ temporary “ fee charged to each shooter. Kinda like helping pay for that horse barn HOF building.
OR, they put 6-8 cots in each building and rent them out to the shooters as “ apartments “.
By the night or the week, your choice.
Each cot gets a styrofoam cooler, a battery operated personal fan and a hook on the wall for your clothes. Each building gets a small charcoal grill and a jug of Kool-Aid
Can’t get much closer to the shoot and after all,
    It’s the grand

The whole condo/apartment thing would help with some of the complainers who think you have to drive to far to get a hotel. The old Dawson’s store could be split in two. The rent is somewhere around 6k if I remember right. It would be around $250 a night per apartment.

    Brad M,
To Little to late, you work there so now you have a solution to all of the problems that have lingered for 15 + years ... That is pretty much like doing the board up after the Hurricane passes and the results add up to nothing short of being Pathetic ... If a business is not or does not get established on the plus side you take it out behind the barn and shoot it after a trial and error period of usually 3 years or so ... The WSRC has contributed to the State (deficit) in no way generates income to the point to break even much less be a positive part of the States Recreational Parks system ... The State of Illinois is in financial distress because of to many ventures that did not and could not possibly work to eliminate the States debt and financial burdens (Think Deficit) ... If the WSRC would of been a business owned and operated by a corporation or investment group it would of been done away with and written off as a loss a long time ago ... Fools rush in where wise men chose not to go = WSRC and Sparta, Illinois ... ( Just the facts Jack) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

How long has this Old Dawson's store been there and why has it not been utilized in the past if it can be utilized now, all of a sudden ..? Reminds me of Joe Biden after 47 in office now he is going to fix everything even though the problems existed all a long ...

"help with some of the complainers who think you have to drive to far to get a hotel."

I think that the drive from a hotel is the least of the ata problems. When the grand was closer to MORE SHOOTERS, they would drive an hour each way from home to shoot and they did that every day they attended. I don't think the drive from a hotel has been the main reason the attendance has been so pathetic.

If you think the apartment price would be prohibitive the ata can use the first option I proposed. Pay WHATEVER the state wants and charge the vendors a lower price so they will stay. They might even get some of the ones that stopped going coming back. Then charge a per shooter daily fee to make up the difference.

    Hey, It's the "grand".

Back in the day... when targets were cheaper, shells were cheaper, targets were harder, more added money, the grand was in Ohio, this site didn’t exist, and everyone here shot regularly and didn’t complain right? That never going to happen again, let me repeat that, that’s never going to happen again. Your idea about the Ata leasing the empty buildings and then “renting” them out is an interesting idea. I would go for that. You could potentially get new vendors.

I guess Brad don't like to see the facts presented right in front of him so he can respond to the questions ... ? He would be a good fit with the ATA being as that is how they operate ...

    Brad,
No offense but you look like and talk like a fool making the statements you are making and not really providing any answers to the problems that exist and have existed since they opened for business ... Go back under your rock while you can still save face ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Any answers I would come up with wouldn’t go over to well here unfortunately. We are trying to change things here. No one here cares or ever will. To little to late? The Ata should of never moved? Illinois is a gun hate state? I’ve heard it all, I hear it all the time especially here. Over and over again. This is the hand I’ve been dealt. I will do what I can, while I can.

To make it simple and cut through the chase, you are 15 years to late and wasting your time ... The time for changes is long past due, End of story ... Turn out the lights the party is over ... If they have another grand at the facility in Sparta or don't really don't matter to most people any more ... Reminds me of a sign I saw on an office door one time " Kick door to open" ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Absolutely. I'm sure the shooters that do go there for the "grand" wouldn't mind paying extra to make up the difference between what the ata had to pay the state of ILLnews and what the vendors are willing to pay.

"Your idea about the Ata leasing the empty buildings........"

Ain't that about a B*^$#. The letters ata and the words empty buildings in the same sentence.

    A fantastic direction !

The State is wise enough to know the vendors are pulling their bids. If you want to be at the Grand you have to pay the big bucks.

Why would anybody want to financially support an anti-American, anti-gun Communist State? Much less an organization that either can't or won't physically secure the historic contents of THOF.

ATA and their pimp Illinois are just a bunch of looooooozers. Oui?

I am not a vendor but I know (knew) many and have had dealings with many of them over the years, I can tell you just from an observation that is a tough way to make a living ... I have total respect for them and feel that without an assortment of vendors you might just as well not even have a shoot because they are a primary attraction ... There are plenty of other shoots the vendors can attend and be treated respectfully at a hell of a lot less money having to be paid for a vendors spot ... I hope they hold off and let the State of Illinois see just how much traffic the vendors do generate even out in Gods country ... The vendors got screwed from what I have heard in 2020 on the prepaid spots so time to do a screwing right back at them and see how they like it ... I don't buy into that crap for one minute if in fact they got screwed ... The vendors have the upper hand and probably a lot of people who will back them to the wall on this one ... WPT ... (YAC) ....

or adjust paperwork ~~~ HA HA HA

Surly you Jest ~~~ ha ha ha

Go back and see the minutes of when the "2012 PULL" gang bought and sold the Sparta property.

Adjust Paper Work ~~~ ha ha ha

Somehow the paper Work (NAME: 2012 PULL LLC) was not quite right in those minutes, and even after a request to right the wrong (correct the minutes) they swept it under the table.

Hell, I can't even remember the REAL name of the gang anymore...

Adjusted Paper Work, my A** !
