When I was shooting a lot of registered I usually shot Remington Nitro 27's ( handicap - 7 1/2 's) same goes for when we used to shoot games on Friday nights ... I got a deal on Estates (handicap - 7 1/2's) so a Buddy and I bought a bunch of them, I have about 70 flats of them in the garage along with 30 plus flats of Nitro'27's ... I will shoot the Estates for just going and braking a few targets once this Corona Virus threat passes or it gets to hot to stand out in the sun and shoot here in Arizona ... I sold the last Combo set I had so if I shoot any doubles it will be with my Model 12 (again), which is always fun ... I shoot the same flavor all the time only because that's what I have on hand ... I figure if 8's will break them 7 1/2's damn sure will ... I usually only shoot handicap (27 yards) because that is where you used to be able to make a few dollars if you shot reasonably well, that was then, this is now ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Federal Paper T-171 71/2's. The Nitros run a close second. I have stash of the Federal Papers and a few Nitros laying around. Both will crush a target and both will give you a little nudge!!!

We used to buy 2 pallets at a time to get a good price, that was 208 flats ... Figure out how many you want and shop around ... I had several people call me that wanted to buy a flat or two and me give them the same price as we paid ( ya think ? ) and then take them to the club for them ... Get together with a Buddy or two and put an order together, make sure you get their money up front so you don't get stuck with them ... Now I just keep enough for me and a few friends if the urge hits me ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I've found I break as many targets (from the 27) with STS Light Target (1 1/8oz @ 1145fps) than I do with the Nitros...and do it much more comfortably (and cheaply).

I pay the same for STS's as I do for Nitro's, cannot remember there ever being a difference in price ... The only time I buy STS is if they do not have Nitro's so I do not really pay much attention if there is any price difference ... I don't reload so the shell hounds like to stand behind me and race each other to the empty's ... I have had people come up behind me while I was shooting to pick up the empties, so now I take the hull out of the gun and flip it in the ground in front of me ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

STS Light Target rounds are approximately a dollar a box cheaper than the Nitro 27 at my local W-M Superstore. If the online sellers (Roger's, Cabela's, etc.) have Remington target loads on sale, it'll usually be Gun Clubs and/or STS...seldom the Nitro 27's.
Also, if people are coming up behind you to pick up empties while you are shooting, the facility needs to exercise more control. The rule almost everywhere is "shooters only on the field during shooting".

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE YOU'LL FIND IN 1145 AND 1200 IS RECOIL. SAME BREAKS, NOT AS TIRED AFTER SHOOTING.
