Has anyone taken this unit apart. will it fall apart if I remove the adjustable allen screw coming out the but plate?
I would like to see it thee is a easy way I could shorten the length of the adjustment screw so to put a different recoil pad. I will not have need to adjust through recoil pad once I have it set.

My stock guy used to do these all the time but has since retired.

I had a Browning adj comb on a previous gun. If I remember right the Allen screw was shortened by the gunsmith that does recoil pads. I don't think it is removable for a permanent fix as this is how it is clamped to the posts.

Fwiw the Browning adj comb hardware is not highly desirable. I would put some washers over the posts to assure the comb doesn't slip down especially if you use a lot of downward head pressure. Stainless steel washers are thin (for good adjustability) and would work well.

Yes I did measure my adjustment gap and printed some spacers on a 3d printer worked out well, I want to shorten the screw or buy a shorter adjustment Allen, I see on Browning web site there are a few different lengths depending on the model of your gun, If I have to I will take apart and have my brother make a new one to correct length as he is a machinist.
