What in your opinion what was the best trap gun Perazzi ever made?

The one that fits you best and allows you to break targets. I don't think it's any single model. I will say that I think square monobloc guns are stronger and better than round monobloc guns. Fixed trigger and removable trigger guns have their plusses and minuses, but I don't think one is definitively better than the other. I prefer barrels without sideribs, as it's one less thing to go wrong and cost money to fix.

Of course the one that fits you! I was asking about quality of manufacture, balance and handling.

I have always been partial to Winchester Model 12's (own a bunch of them ) ... Have owned (still do own) a bunch of Perazzi's and have had very good luck with them ... The first Perazzi I owned many years ago was an MX 8 Combo set, two triggers , two forearms , it is the one that got away ... Oh well ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

WPT I started with model 12's and own about 40 of them today, all gauges but 28. I couldn't afford an MX - 8 back then just for doubles but later I had a couple different MX -8's I used for live birds and wish I'd have kept the 28 inch one I owned. I loaned it to Larry Bumstead at a Holford's pigeon shoot and he killed a 24 and won the calcutta with it (by himself) and he wanted it more than me after that. So as any good old time trap shooter did I sold it.

Can't beat The MX 8, type 4 is a plus, lots of options out there at reasonable prices.

I can help you rectify that.

AFA the Q goes strength is not a factor at all. The Boss lugs on the square monoblocks may somehow reduce wear mabe or something but the amount of metal around the chambers is effectively the same. Otherwise the actions are identical in function and even use the same parts for everything across the models. Find one you like as its longevity is dependent on how you treat the gun and not which model it is.
BTW Perazzis on their own never miss a target but sometimes they are forced to by an incompetent handler

So what I have are late 70's Mirages and as I understand it they usually sell for about $4K and up depending on the regular criteria

My personal favorites are the two I own. My Rome NY import MX3 Special combo and my Ithaca import TM1.

Ithica TM1. Have one with 1,500,000 through it and still going strong. Bought new in about 1971.

Best I had was a Mid seventies MX-8 Grand American combo unsingle. The O/U seemed to go to the target by itself. Wish I still had it.

I have to agree on the 32 inch MX-8 Perazzi was and still is the best gun.
