Show or tell us how it is mismanaged. Otherwise it is an empty statement.

Name a Trap Range that Pays an Manager $135,000+ Benefits, Posts no Shooting Events, Cares little for it's Membership, Does not Promote The ATA or the ISTA, Tells Everyone How Great the WSRC is, and Condones Giving False Information on Attendance and fails to correct Erronous Information, Posts No Shoot Schedule, Has his Own Shooting Guns & Supplies on Site, Engaged in Shot Recovery, Lining his own pocket!!!!!!!!, Just a Partial List

So many others are more Knowledgable than I am, on How the WSRC is run

After using the Search feature, I agree with the above posters, not mentioning that I was around ATA since the early 70's and have seen the demise of a once Grand sport. My best friend who shot since the 60's and still does to this day who also worked at the Grand in those early days setting the traps and has won countless national and state titles, also agrees with me. I hold his opinion in the highest esteem.

The creation of the WSRC was part of a Political power struggle, has not and never will produce as was stated, intended, or Illinois Politicians were led to believe ... The ATA made false claims as to numbers that attend (100,000 plus)as well as revenue (20/30 million) that can be generated with ZERO basis for said claim , simply put numbers that have never and will never been reached ... The WSRC has added to the State of Illinois deficit for every year its been in existence, with the exception of possibly this past year (2015), though that is not for sure because the numbers have never been posted as of yet for the Peons (Membership) to see ... It was a move of desperation on the part of the ATA, it was there or going to be there and they had no place to go mainly because they had blinders on and could not imagine going any place else, which was stated on numerous occasions prior to them relocating to the WSRC (State of Illinois) by elected Officials who had never been there, Illinois by the way has some of the strictest gun regulations in the United States of America, of course now they have a 24/7 shooting range in Chicago, (proper) where people get killed just for being there, no real reason otherwise ... The State relaxed some of the regulations initially to entice the move to Illinois but put most of the restrictions back into effect right afterword ... The State of Illinois is Big Brother Watching gun owners with their FOID card that all gun owners in the State must (supposed to have) have , to own or buy ammo for any and all guns they may have ... The WSRC is a dead horse yet cannot draw fly's or a crowd based on the attendance since it opened and the ATA moved there (declined each year) ... The ATA has made many mistakes in the past 15 plus years that have cost the Organization dearly (look at the numbers of Members in decline ), the State of Illinois on the other hand does it routinely and they always have being as their answer to everything is Raise Taxes which is driving residents to move out of the State faster than the Bunnies can make replacements ... (Bad Example) probably ... The trickle down effect shows and proves there is a bottom to everything, the ATA is on the path of destruction from with in ... The WSRC cannot break even, so sooner or later it will meet with the same result (Demise) of Meigs Field ( Google it ) and be a stomping grounds for a bunch of Demo Derby Hill Billies or a tent city for refugees ... Other than that all is well and going as planned and moving in a "Fantastic Direction", depending on who you talk to ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Saw this coming a long time ago. Another problem is that wages are stagnant and disposable income is down. Hopefully the economy can turn around.

    Been inside a casino lately?
If you haven't or just don't like them that's fine but there is a TON of money being spent there.
So much so that they could probably weigh it that way instead of counting it

Gunfitter....I love it when someone posts that economy. I get to dust off one of my favortite gems.

You think it is the economy? Know much about trapshooting history....?

Those people from Ohio and PA that used to flock to Vandalia can tell you about bad economic times and shooting trap.

Some may remember the hyper-inflation under Nixon but Vandalia and trapshooting was getting bigger.

Carter and his malaise and double digit unemployment and the fuel shortage hit the Midwest hard. Of course it was another banner era for trapshooting.

One of the worst days for the Vandalia and the trapshooting lands was the Monday the steel mills closed in Ohio and PA. Another great year for trapshooting. One of the biggest.

Black Thursday and the stock market crash and the following recession did not stop trapshooting.

The next big crash was the dot com crash. Hurt everything but trapshooting. Vandalia hardly blinked.

We have been reminded on occasion how well the sport did during the great recession. Darn good.

All those bad times above we call the golden age of trapshooting. The good 'ole days.

Then came the move. Not even trapshooting could overcome that.
