It is hard to hang a clay target, I found you need to lean it, or drill a hole in it, then put a nail through the hole, and tap the nail with a hammer to hang it, do this at a distance, I use 40 yards, shoot at it with 7 1/2s standard velocity trap loads. All I ever got was holes in the target, once in a great while if you hit the rim just right it will fall in two pieces, VERY VERY Seldom

The longer arm of the WW1524 trap spins the target faster.

At the old Delaware gun club we had a guy build a longer arm for a jackpot shoot, it could throw a target 80 yards easily, and a hell of a left angle target.

Ask some of the old timers who used to shoot there about it?

When i was a young kid i remember a 5' fiberglass rod on a hand thrower that a farmer tossed.... 7 good shooters lined up had problems hitting his birds... poor guy is no longer around... miss his challenges

Sounds like "stickbird." I've seen guys attach a holder to an old fishing rod. I have one that uses a golf club shaft. They all really whip a target and I've seen guys throw all types of targets with these.

We had a guy at Airport Gun Club that had one of those last year, he could really whip that target out there.

All it takes is a piece of string and a dab of epoxy or duct tape.

Piece of duct tape, short length of string, something to tie off (low hanging tree branch).

File a roofing nail to a sharp edge and twist the target on it. The nail will cut a groove into the soft target and it will stay. Be careful with the sticks used to throw targets. Guy had an eye put out at Myrtlewood Plantation in GA several years ago.

Well it's a good thing we don't shoot at stationary targets!!! Is there a point to this thread or are you just posting random thoughts? You might want to take to twitter.

Maybe using the target as a small patterning board? Or, just shooting at a target, many do it but usually use a pistol.
