I just watched the video on the ATA website about how there WILL be a 2016 GA but the final details won't be finished until April 15, 2016. It was also said that the SCTP will be back @ Sparta in 2017 by contract, but apparently the contract doesn't cover 2016?

    Something is not adding up.

Was I commenting on anything except, what the OP heard in the video is what was said in the video?

So, then duff. Is there a fixed contract with the SCTP for 2017?

For duff. Please see paragraph 3 where the SCTP says they will review terms for returning the following year. No contract.

I dont get how anyone that is on the site so often posting so much can always be factually wrong.

You'll have to ask the SCTP and IDNR.

I posted the letter from the SCTP for you duff. Old news to everyone else.

The letter from the SCTP isn't a clue for you duff?

No it doesn't add up. Who expects the ATA to give an honest answer when the posted letter says otherwise?

The contract is with the IDNR, but blame the ATA all you want.

What contract exists with the IDNR Duff. Please explain as again you got it wrong. Tell us what contract is with the IDNR.

Hey Smithy you need to reread the third paragraph of post that you posted from the Cardinal Center flyer....... it clearly states the SSSF National Championship contract extend with the IDNR Thru 2017

And PAPA27 the saying agree "to revisit the terms" means what to you? It means we will discuss it later. No terms exist now. If no terms exist then there is no contract. Another dumb MOU.

The contract was defaulted by the IDNR. The SCTP Collegiate Championships had to be held at the CC in the fall due to the default. The IDNR has no scheduled shoots for this year at the WSRC.

How does one "revisit the terms" or "discuss it later" , if "no terms exist"?

You're all pickled with yourself with your copy and paste, and you don't ever comprehend what is written.

    Duff,
I will take a moment to assist you. To revisit legally means to reconsider. To consider again. To ponder from a different angle.

It does not mean "we will continue to abide by."

The SCTP only has a one year agreement with the CC. Next year they can revisit the old terms with either party. Or they can discuss new terms with either party.

Also, you can look many of these terms up on line. Best of luck.

The SCTP will not be returning to Sparta. Given a better location with better infrastructure and much more to do Sparta loses. Throw in the fact that the CC is providing and building everything the SCTP asks for why would you have any thought the SCTP will be coming back to Sparta. The only agreement the IDNR has currently is to revisit but once they let the SCTP out they won't be come back.

Easy girls, I just was asking a question. I was confused as to why CC would lay out quite an expenditure of funds for a one time deal with SCTP if they are contractually obligated to be at Sparta thru or in 2017. The video eluded to that understanding. I thought I had missed something in all of the information that has been passed out on here about where and what is to be done about this years Grand. That's all.

Just got the AIM Handbook for 2016 yesterday.
Full page (18) on the AIM national tournament and not 1 word about location of the tournament!
If not in Sparta then where else would they have it?

We're planning to attend the SCTP national tournament at the Cardinal but if the AIM national tournament was there 2 weeks later would probably not attend.

People keep talking about contracts , leases, rental agreements, tentative agreements, probable agreements, possible agreements Mou's with the State of Illinois and IDNR as if they mean something and are legally binding , which by now we all know that none of them are worth the paper they are written on if one side or the other makes the choice to not honor said agreement ... SCTP made the absolute right choice to preserve the future for those shooters , we ATA members should be so lucky to have someone at the "wheel' that cares to that degree about ATA shooters into the future ... The lacking infrastructure in the immediate area around Sparta in general could be a very defining factor for the SCPT to go and continue into the future at the Cardinal Center ... Trap shooters have very short memories but if they put up with the Uncertainty and doubt that has been going on for months they deserve what ever they end up with, probably with a price attached to it ... The grand being posed as an "Elite " shoot should be paid for by the elite that plan to attend so those who do not, do not have to help carry the financial burden ... There are many factors that come into view far beyond the budget talks , Union issues, and past due obligations that fall upon the State of Illinois, so that is not going to be settled for quite awhile, not that any operations at the WSRC would be absolutely hinged on it any way ... But you never know, you know ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...

The CC thinks they can offer more for less without charging extra for porta potties and water coolers. They did not feel the need to force a big contract on the kids.

Do you think maybe the handbook was printed before the CC location was confirmed?

The Cardinal Center is being built to fit an agenda, but I don't think it is being built with an agenda.

There are enough shooters in that area to keep the place busy for many years to come.

Here are some bills to worry about and write letter to your State Senator about:
    Illinois Bills
    SB2130

Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Deletes provision that the regulation of the possession or ownership of assault weapons are exclusive powers and functions of this State. Deletes provision that any ordinance or regulation, or portion of that ordinance or regulation, that purports to regulate the possession or ownership of assault weapons in a manner that is inconsistent with the Act, shall be invalid unless the ordinance or regulation is enacted on, before, or within 10 days after the effective date of Public Act 98-63 (July 9, 2013). Deletes provision that any ordinance or regulation described in the stricken provision enacted more than 10 days after the effective date of Public Act 98-63 is invalid. Effective immediately upon passage and signature.
As of 1/27 was placed in the Judiciary Committee - My recommendation is to send a letter in opposition to your State Senator and when the Judicary Committee schedules a hearing to register for the hearing and place your opposition to the Bill in the record.
    SB2211
Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that if the Department of State Police has not received the Firearm Disposition Record within 5 business days after sending notice of revocation and seizure of an FOID card, the Department must send a second notice to the sheriff and law enforcement agency where the person resides. The second notice shall include the compliance requirements under the Act. Upon receiving the second notice, the sheriff or law enforcement agency shall report to the Department the status and efforts pursued regarding compliance under the Act. If the person whose FOID card has been revoked fails to comply with the requirements of the Act, the sheriff or law enforcement agency where the person resides shall (rather than may) petition the court for a warrant to search for and seize the person's FOID card and firearms. Provides that within 30 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act, and by January 31 of each year thereafter, the Department of State Police shall provide written notice of the requirements of this provision to every sheriff and law enforcement agency within the State. Effective immediately.
One of the sponsors ( Senator Julie A. Morrison D. 29th District) on the bill was quoted as follows: "
I have introduced a bill "that would mandate whenever the state police deem someone ineligible for a FOID card, local law enforcement must remove all firearms from the home. It is a matter of public safety, plain and simple.” That means if your child or spouse, or live in brother-in law loses, or is denied, a FOID card that not only will their guns be seized, but so will the guns of everybody else living in the house regardless of their eligibility or possession of a valid FOID card or LEO exemption. - My recommendation is to send a letter in opposition to your State Senator and when the Judicary Committee schedules a hearing to register for the hearing and place your opposition to the Bill in the record.

    Enjoy, WPT ... (YAC) ...

Where did your definition come from... When I look up "revisit" Mr Webster says.. " come back to or visit again"
