Once fired 20 gauge HS hulls. A friend told me he had part of the base wad stick in gun barrel. So I started to pay attention and then remembered I'd seen the before. Recently I dumped a bunch of once fired AA HS 20 gauge on my reloading bench a low and behold look what showed up. See Picture. Be reminded this is behind the powder and the regular wad. Anyone had any issues ? As I recall there may have been two generations of HS hulls ?
    Thanks

Looks like the problem was with the first generation, HS, hulls. You can see that funny little wad thing if you look down the hull.

This problem was not with just 20 ga , the 12 ga also had the same problem

That doesn't look like a AAHS base wad at all..It looks like the top cup portion of a two piece Federal Top Gun wad. Especially since it has molded-in petals...

Skeet Man is right that is a wad top not a AAHS base wad.
