If you would like to tune up for the Calcutta, Williams County Gun Club will be holding an ATA shoot on Black Friday, Nov. 29. Singles at 9, followed by handicap and doubles.

Best that I know of in Ohio. They got 17 squads presquad earlier this week. They let folks from all over Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, KY and Cincinnati (just had too Fro. See u guys Saturday) attending. Rumor has it that Keith Ditto is even planning on attending.

We have an excellent turnout pre-squadding for the Calcutta this Saturday, Dec. 14, higher than last year. The auction will start promptly at 10 am
and hopefully we are shooting by 11:15 to 11:30. Dick Barhorst will move through the auction swiftly, so be ready to bid. We will shoot 2 banks of 2 traps, everyone will shoot 50, then we will flip the banks and shoot the second 50. IF we have more than 24 squads, it will be necessary for some of the later squads to finish their last 50 under the lights. We do have a very good lighting system. The ladies are working hard to have plenty of food on hand for this large crowd, practice and the office opens at 8 am. We are bringing in extra porta-johns for this event. Those that have pre-squadded can go directly to the pay window. This event should be one of our most exciting Calcuttas yet, and we look forward to seeing everyone. Travel safe, be there in time to be paid and ready for the 10:00 auction.

    Joe,
Great job as usual! I hear you had shooters from Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana and Iowa. Were any other States represented? Drawing 117 entries in a 100 bird handicap race at small club in Northwest Ohio in the middle winter is something to be proud of. I bet if you check, you had more entries than a few State shoot handicap championships. Maybe some of those shoots should copy your program!

There would have been another big one if the 95 have played the calcutta option. three 97's,one 96 ($6700) and a 95 (no play, $3600), so the 94's got to split that money!!!!!

Thanks Joe. Shooters from 7 States! I did spot the name of our friend from Illinois. Gotta give him a new nickname cuz “Tex” doesn’t fit him anymore. Tell Brad congrats on his great shooting! Tell Ethan congrats on his great Calcutta purchases!
