I have several calls to the Department of Wildlife and ODNR in Ohio. Their phone person isn't giving answers yet. So far no answers as to whether they have contacted the FDA or the CDC. I have used the media line and public line. Ask the wrong questions and you get transferred or put on hold (ignore).

    I sense incompetence.....

Just watched the video, just looks to me that the DOW just wants to keep their skirts clean. This problem is only going to get worse and I can easily see the disease spreading from Allen, Hardin, Marion, and Wyandot counties moving south through the state. Unfortunately, by the time the DOW takes action it may be too late. Every deer hunter in Ohio should flood the DOW with phone calls and emails demanding answers regarding how they are going to address this issue and just stop giving lip service with little to no action.

Brad, I applaud your efforts shining light on this problem. I will be heading to Xenia, OH on Friday to confront the District Five Office of the DOW in person to address what plans are in place to keep this disease from spreading south to other counties. I will try and video my visit with them, that should really freak them out as they seldom like to go on record with any of their "pass the buck" bullshit.

It sounds like Ohio has a problem if the cattle industry in Ohio is threatened. I would like to see a study.

The DOW and the DNR are run by political DEI woman that have no practical experience. Ohio's govenor is not very smart, ever since the DOW was unionized in the late 90's early 2000's it is shit too. Hold their feet to the fire and remember next year to remind them about what they caused, EBOLA is indeed a EHD and is named from where it was first seen, the EBOLA river in Africa. The DOW doesn't own what is happening today but it does own everything from here on out.

No offical seems to know for sure how it jumped from animals to people but they think it was from eating infected animals, BUT they don't now. The game wardens are still telling hunters that the deer they shoot are safe to eat, as far as they know. Real comforting I think. Also there are different types of virus, hard shell and soft shell. Soft dies when the host dies hard can survie outside the host. Simple biology lost on government DEI hires.

Ohio is not the only state that has ever had this.

Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease is not connected to Ebola

When I visited the District Five Office of the DOW I received no answers to my questions about what actions the DOW are taking to address this problem. All I got was "We are closely monitoring the situation" and we have no reported incidents of the disease in our district. When asked again if there was any plan in place should the disease occur within District Five they once again stuck with the "We are monitoring" reply and would not answer if indeed there were any plans in place.

The two employee's I spoke with were friendly enough but had that "deer in the headlights" look and were very guarded with responses (or lack thereof) when pressed for answers to my questions. I was asked several times if I represented or was affiliated with any news organization during my visit and I had the distinct impression that they had been informed and instructed as to what information they should provide when asked about this disease. I was also asked if I was aware of or present at a recent meeting in Paulding County so they apparently had been informed of what took place at Thorn Bottom.

Can you answer this question.....Is it the same strain?

Or tell us if the dead carcasses are a threat to the water supply or cattle drinking there.
