This one is for target throwers. For whomever is interested. Sparta paid Promatic $861,120.00 for traps in 2012. The contract ends 12/31/2016. Promatic was the winning bidder. Promatic Inc Joyce Callahan 7803 West Hwy 116 Gower, MO 64454 Jess Briley also submitted a bid, but lost. You can read the proposal here: http://www.filedropper.com/promaticillinois226301 The thrower requirements for some machines are quite demanding and include "ATA Wobble" and 100 yard distance.
I like this information, some sport got some good , very good traps, with capabilities of distances and angles, I hope if Sparta opens back up they are used on the trap fields. Thanks smoking357 for that information!!!!!!! PS: I wonder if they were delivered to Sparta?????? Gary Bryant Dr.longshot
I believe that the 2 Sporting Clays courses at the WSC used Promatic traps, I didn't go and look at the traps when I shot both courses while at the Grand but they looked like Promatic traps. They probably purchased 45 to 50 traps for the 2 courses and spares. Again I don't know for absolute certain but this could be possible.
That would be a lot of money for 45 or 50 traps. That would be $17223.00 each. That would also be a lot of money for 100 sporting clay traps. At $4305.60 EACH. I must have got out of the business to soon. Roger C.
The bind specs required more than just a cash for traps thing. There was condition in there that required the winning co to be able to supply an additional 30 traps 3-5 times per year with personnel from the company to install and be on site during the events. This didn't seem to be a deal breaker thing, but if the vendor accepted the State would give them up to 3 camping spaces for their personnel. Then there is this clause: ' All machines will be changed out on an annual basis with new machines upon the anniversary of the contract. New model replacement trap machines will have the same or better specifications of the machines that are being replaced.' Near as I can tell the bid specs were for 84 traps (6 of which needed to be ATA compliant). Somewhere in that 33 page document I saw the word LEASE.
The Skeet machines were obtained from Briley in 2008 for $111,600.00. I can't get the full proposal for that. The clay targets are sourced from White Flyer, and the State spends a lot of cash on them. Under the White Flyer agreement, the State is also allowed to buy unused event targets on the grounds. For the people who know the trade, here's the Illinois Bid link. Search the archive for older RFPs. http://www.purchase.state.il.us/ipb...itationsOpenByDate?OpenView&Start=1&Count=250
Did this $861,000+ purchase by the ATA perk up any EARS, Well it did mine, I did not see any action in ATA minutes for this purchase, maybe someone could re-check and see if I missed it. The ATA being a non-profit Org. how can they explain to the IRS a purchase of this magnitude. The only place I can see where they could be used is in San Antonio, and that would not be an ATA expense to use Our ATA money on. Any purchase over $5,000 has to be reported to the IRS, Freedom Of Information Act allows any one to check out spending of this amount. Where were they actually shipped to? Was N1H1 involved in any of this action? These traps have to be used by the ATA in Trapshooting, using ATA money, Help Roger Covelski!!!! Gary Bryant...........Dr.longshot
Gary, you misunderstood the information posted. ATA had nothing to do with that purchase at all. No ATA money involved.
Dr. Take a deep breath and say I will not get over excited. I do not know how we can blame this on old Neil. These are sporting clays machines. Roger C.
In the bid specs it was reported that six (6) of the machines were required to be ATA compliant, wonder just what this meant and if 6 machines complied with this spec what make of machine was supplied. Were these 6 machines used in ATA competitions at Sparta. It would be interesting to find out the answers to these questions.
oldphart; They do use some ATA machines on some sporting clays courses. They did have some machines vandalized maybe they are trying out some different machines. It would make sense if they did. The first time around the process got short circuted, by someone. Roger C.
The silence about certain things seems to be part of the "let's not mention it and maybe it will go away" thing thats been going on ... The Illinois budget, the missing trap machines, continuation of funding the WSRC, I can't imagine anyone making their plans for next year with all of the unknowns going on ... There is nothing on the Illinois Governor / IDNR's site that changes anything as of this morning ... Has anyone heard anything one way or the other ..? The Holiday Inn in Sparta has a surplus of rooms for the dates that were posted on the "Ya'all come on back sign" at the WSRC site ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The State of Illinois is not paying out large sums of money to the Lottery winners after 07-01-15 because there is not a budget, I don't know if this can even be legal being as it was not in question when they bought the tickets ... Interesting twist, .... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Well I just called them to make my reservation. Was told they weren't taking reservations for the Grand weeks until Jan 4, 2016. Guess that explains why there are still rooms available.
Why bring N1H1 into this? He has had his hands in everything else Why not this? Gary Bryant........................Dr.longshot
