I would think there is a minimal amount of shooting that must take place to keep the doors open at Sparta.

They don’t have the SCTP. They ran. The US Open has been a failure. Now we have Inflation and high gas. Will the political powers keep the doors open just because?

They have $22,000,000.00 in investments, until they use it or allocate it to personal enhancement, it will stay open. Roger C.

The officers that run the organization. If I have to tell you, you most likely will not understand the explanation. Roger C.

I love how a person asks for clarity and is met with a personal attack. Nice

If you liked it why complain. If you are interested in the organization, investigate their actions for your self. Then make up your own mind about their leadership.

I was at every shoot they had except last years grand. how about you. I never said The facility at Sparta was not nice. I have a problem that after the members voted not to go to Illinois the ATA went there anyway. And it has been on a down hill slide ever since. We used to have 10 men on the All American team. Now there are about 265 that make up the teams. that watered it down to a joke. I have REGESTERED OVER 350.000 TARGETS I have been around for a long time.

The US Open couldn’t get 300 shooters in any event. The group that left, SCTP, will have over 10,000 entries and at least 3,500 shooters.

The Open continues to bleed cash.

I must have missed the link that shows the P&L for the US Open.
No worries, the residents and government of IL are used to running at a deficit, they'll kick the can down the road and make up the difference.

That's pretty common, steel underware is the norm. But the guys here I've met in person are outstanding.

According to White Flyer's stats the WSRC threw close to 1 million targets than the Cardinal. How they compiled these stats I have no idea unles it is based on sales. Maybe target counters? No idea.

Open. I went to the first OPEN they held. It didn't impress me so I never went back. It didn't qualify as a major shoot then and it does not look like it improved.

Funny, I don’t remember seeing you(or your Scores) at their(WSRC) fall or spring shoot last year 2021, or the 2020.

I know they have an SCTP Regional shoot, and sctp state shoot(this weekend I think). Also I believe there is a local youth association that has a few hundred members that shoot a couple of times a year. They have a spring and fall trapshoot as well. I went to one a couple of years ago and it was ok for a small shoot. I know a couple of guys who shoot on their trap league. It runs most of the year. Their schedule is on the DNR website. Looks like quite a few sporting clays fundraisers take place out there.

And, they hold the “grand” there, where the get 3000-4000 entries for the GAH event alone.

    Oh wait,,,,,,,,never mind.

Cali Shooter, I have 5 trophies from the Grand in Sparta. I never heard of you either, how many do you have? I also have one from the only Open I ever attended.
I only attended the so called big shoots there, the fall and spring shoots did not qualify as big.
Do you really know what a large shoot is like/ I do not think you do. Roger C.

So every shoot in your terms means only big shoots. Got it.
I have a few trophies from several “big” shoots…
While I may not be as seasoned as some. I’ve been all over and I never really liked Vandalia, Cardinal or Sparta for that matter. I prefer the east and the west. Central is to hot for my tastes…

“If I have to tell you, most likely you wouldn’t understand”. Paramount to calling someone stupid. Guess the standard depend on the poster.
