New Member - Suggestion

Hi all,

New member and shooter. I grew up shooting quail and dove at my dad's ranch and just recently started shooting again (have been 3 times and joined a club). Waiting for September to roll around to join my first ATA shoot. Looking forward to introducing my 3 teenagers and wife to shooting.

I've been lurking this site for the past month. I enjoy reading much of the material - although drama and politics are really not my thing.

I was wondering if I could make a suggestion. Any chance the board creates a new forum called "ATA Topics" or such? It would really clean up this forum and focus it on what I would think most shooters are here for - Trap Shooting.

As it is, I have to cull through 20 posts to find 3 or 4 that are of interest.

Not trying to cause any waves or get anyone upset. Really, just a helpful suggestion.

 

Love it. I'd love to split Trap talk from ATA Trap talk.

 

Actually, that's a good suggestion.

Especially regarding things like squadding, options, rules, etc.

Maybe there should be an ATA section and Trap Talk section.

 

Nah, I like to mix it up. If it were about ATA shooting, I'd never meet these guys! Look at the friendliest site! Everything so sliced and diced it's diluted to a tasteless, colorless broth and you don't even get julienned fries!

I suppose if you wanted about Real Trap, you could participate in conversations in which newbies such as yourself can learn a few tips and improve your scores.

 

I don't think there's enough traffic or any need to create new categories.

You will find that it all comes together at some point in time and all things are relevant ... Some people care more about certain things than others and many have seen things as they were years ago, to be the way they should be yet today ... There is no right or wrong and you have to sort out what your interests are and read them ... Have fun, you will meet a lot of really great people and make many friends over the years ... Trust your gut, and do not believe all you hear from some who have tunnel vision ...
