I have a set of six Wilkinson worked titanium K80 chokes for a .736 bore. Includes the following constrictions: .003, .009, (2) .016, .025, & .036. The constriction is laser etched on the chokes and includes the plastic case. Not looking to split set at this time. $750 shipped
What happened to the barrel? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Tom does not recommend using his tuned chokes outside of the barrel they were originally made for.
I have the barrel but don’t need chokes. Can you provide the source for not using the chokes outside of the original barrel?
Yes, Tom told me personally not to do it. Call him if you want to hear direct info. Don't the choke tubes have the barrel SN engraved on them as well?
I just spoke with Tom and he didn’t tell me the same thing. He did state that there would be some differences in barrels and that it would be necessary to verify that there was no overhang in bore due to bore differences. He also stated that there would be a difference in constrictions versus those marked but that they could be shot in another barrel with those understandings and verifications. He said he would keep them with the barrel but that if I wanted to sale them they could be used in other barrels.
There is also a chance that someone else may have a .736 Wilkinson barrel that needs/wants some additional chokes for which these would be perfectly suited. As I originally noted that these chokes were for a .736 bore barrel and this was my intention.
As long as the barrel bores are within a few thousands, you shouldn’t have any issues whatsoever. OP posted bore and constriction and isn’t hiding anything. If I currently had a factory choked k80 barrel, I wouldn’t hesitate using these chokes. No dog in the fight but I’m not one to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Tom is good but his work is not NASA specific. Good shooting, Rey
