What do you folks think if this o/u for trap shooting. It is one of the guns I am considering.

I have one here today in my shop from a frustrated shooter in Vancouver.

He has broken one ejector twice. He sent it to me because it has a release trigger and Browning refuses to work on ANY of their guns with a modification. I sent in a customer's BT-99 for repair and they sent it right back stating because it had a different recoil pad, they would not work on it.

I even phoned the service department in Arnold MO stating that I used to be a certified Browning warranty station and that I could very easily fit a new ejector. They immediately and very succinctly stated it must be sent in for the repair. When I indicated that it had a release trigger installed, they said not to send it in.

I would consider the above, if I were to purchase one.

I would like to see a picture of that. Are you sure?

    silver02-,
I have three friends who in recent years have had issues with Browning customer service. All were for repairs on older XT's. One had broken rib on his top single which Browning claimed they could not replace or repair. Another had a cracked stock and I don't recall what the other persons issue was. In the later two instances Browning did complete the repairs however it took months for them to get their guns back. Whether or not that's the norm for their customer service I cannot say with any certainty. Personally I prefer Beretta's vs Brownings and have never had any dealings with Browning customer service.

    Family Guy,
One of the knocks against the Cynergy model was that you couldn't put a release in them. However I believe I read on another forum that a guy in British Columbia (Gordie Keller) did make one.

I can't say they have "poor customer service", but I can say that it took me 4-5 months to get a replacement wood stock for my new Silver auto 20 ga. On another side, getting stocks from Perazzi Italy can take longer. I have always had courteous service from Browning for parts orders where they stocked the parts. Also, the 4-5 month wait concerned me that perhaps they lost the order. Two calls to them, and both times they had the order up on their computer systems and assured me it would ship once they received it from Japan.

I believe that the issue with them 'not working on modified gun' is more of a liability issue. Someone getting hurt from a modified Browning gun just opens the pockets up to an attorney looking for folks with deep checkbooks to satisfy a claim.

FAMILY GUY: You want a photo of the release trigger? I do not have the receiver here, but my customer is a friend of mine in Vancouver WA. I could possibly get him to remove his butt-stock and take a photo of the release mechanism. I kind of remember him saying something about his release trigger was done by a guy who no longer does them. That, of course, would not diminish the fact that he could get a photo of it.

OR: if it is a photo of the broken ejector, I can do that.

We have had a few discussions about a mythical release for the cynergies. I am a bit skeptical and would like to see one.

I see that my original thread has changed topics....still waiting for opinions concerning the original question...

The triggers have always been the issue. The pull triggers have been known to need adjustment. I would not buy a trap gun that you could not sell to a release trigger shooter. If you could put a release in a cynergy I would grab one.

I am looking for a "keeper" gun. If you read some of my first posts...I am new to the forum, I shot when I was much younger...Then had a 45 year layoff from shooting..back into now. Due to my size..I'm only 5'6" and weigh 125 soaking wet..I also had a mild stroke 11 months ago. So I'm looking for a lighter weight gun that I can go most of the day with. I've shot several of the 8 /9 pound guns over the last few weeks..they just tire me out..my 7.5 pound gun I can go a full day.

    silver02,
I noticed from one of your other posts that you reside in the Daytona, FL area. The Silver Dollar Shooters Club, 17202 Target Way, Odessa, FL 33556 will be hosting the Southern Grand and Florida State trap shoots over the next two weeks (03/13-03/26). Typically there are a handful of vendors there that have a fairly good selection of new and used clay target guns. In addition, Mike Batista, owner of the Silver Dollar Firearms shop in the clubhouse, is a straight up guy who can tell you the pros and cons of the guns you may be considering. The Dollar is about three hours from Daytona. If you're looking to get back in the game and see the various gun options in todays game I think you will find the trip very beneficial. And, trust me, they'll be plenty of shooters there who will be more than willing to tell everything you need to know to master the game!!!

OK. I looked at a cynergy schematic. Release is in the middle. Anyone know who does these in the US?
