Illinois turned their back on the SCTP. Jack and the gang at the CC rescued the College Nationals in 2015. Then the CC spent mega money. This is great for the SCTP. A dull nail in the coffin of WSRC.

Darn, now my son must find an SCTP team and drop AIM. This will probably cost me another trip to Cardinal Center. There goes a few more of his Social Security checks!

History Buff went out to the CC to introduce the kids to the History of Trapshooting last year.

His report was that he had a great time explaining our game's history to them.

Without someone like HB to take the time and make the effort to do this, our history would be lost in time.

Glad to hear the organizers are on board with the CC. 100_2999.JPG

I think the SSSF went against the masses on this one .
Most people that I spoke to said they want to go back to WSRC .
I wonder what the survey they sent out came up with. What I heard was 90% want WSRC
Just my and many others opinion.

So 90% of the people"surveyed", plus you, wanted to keep going back to that place in IL. and the leaders, the people that decide what is best for their organization, went against their wishes.

That's one "survey" I want to see.

You said it ( best for the organization ) not the Kids shooting 0r the people bring the kids to shoot.
I think they will see fewer shooters than this years shoot and will not get to the number of shooters that went to WSRC

Who are these people in the "organization" that benefited by the 3 year contract with the CC and, according to you, went against the wishes of the shooters and their families?

"I think they will see fewer shooters than this years shoot and will not get to the number of shooters that went to WSRC"

Hell, not that long ago there were people that "thought" the shoot would be back in that place in IL. after one year.

OOPS! Sounds like they were wrong too.

I'll bet the number will be more than 1745

If you are upset that the shoot moved to Ohio get in touch with that hasbeen Dysinger. He can probably hook you up with a company that makes T shirts.

"We have just completed execution of an agreement with the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, OH to host our July nationals for 2017, 2018 and 2019. Our staff and board of directors solicited, received and evaluated feedback from state advisors, coaches and parents on venue choices for the nationals.

Over 50% of survey respondents preferred the Cardinal Shooting Center with nearly 10% neutral. At our State Advisor Academy in Milwaukee in September, the survey data was shared with all advisors in attendance and the decision to move to Ohio was unanimous."

    John Smith,
Sounds like you got a little bad information probably from one of the Kool Aid crew , If things keep progressing at the WSRC as they are and have been there won't be a WSRC to go to ... The State of Illinois, IDNR, WSRC, ATA pulled the plug on many shoots that were on schedule which is why the move took place, in the first place ... The State of Illinois does not usually keep dead horses around for very long once enough people get convinced that's exactly what it is ... The Politicos in the State of Illinois ( most States actually) are not known to be fine upstanding people who live a life based on Honor and Integrity as compared to $$$$$ ... The State, ATA, and or INDR do not want to post the figures from the last big (little ) grand held there for some reason , I'm guessing that its because the figures are so pathetic ... This would be an educated guess based on the performance in the past since the WSRC opened and head its Gala Premiere Event the year it opened ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

That's the way things should be done....Up front, and the majority of shooters wishes.

The SSSF & SCTP group used their intellect and exercised their best option. They saw their contract with the IDNR broken once with little time to formulate a "Plan B" and with the uncertainty of WSRC operations in 2017 and beyond, they wisely decided on the safety of the Cardinal Center.

Additionally, the IDNR must anticipate not opening up for shooting in 2017 since the ATA has accepted their offer to manage next year's U. S. Open tournament. At least that what the lease agreement implies.

In The Event DNR Fails To Open WSRC . . ..jpg
    From the ATA minutes.

ATA & IDNR New Relationship on US Open.jpg

I wonder what that new relationship entails? I'll bet our Delegates know the whole story, having requested to review the IDNR's proposal and offering their comments in advance of acceptance. But, since the ATA has already stated in writing that they will . . . well read it for yourself.

ATA Will Devote Resources For WSRC Shooting.jpg

QUESTION : Will managing the US Open be profitable for the ATA or will the Association assume a financial loss? I didn't read anything about a cost/benefit analysis in the minutes.

The WSRC takes a lot of money to prepare and get set up for shoots, the U.S. Open has never produced enough business (shooters) to make it worth while at the cost that is related to hosting the shoot ... The ATA is not telling anything about cost of any of the shoots they are involved with, obviously do not want to up set the (members), people who are paying for them to be the big shots ... The grand is just another great example of how some people can screw up a one car funeral ... The State of Illinois is still in a budget crisis, makes one wonder who is picking up the tab ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...

Ollie, your son can keep AIM and shoot SCTP at the same time. My son did it last year. They're independent of each other. And the nice thing is that his scores in SCTP events count for is AIM MSE's.

I don't understand why SCTP shoots their 16's ATA and their doubles and handicaps non ATA. Why not shoot all non ATA and save the kids the daily fees altogether? They'd get another round of practice each day for the same money. Brad
