Just picked up a pre-Mark V chambered in 257 Weatherby Mag, in incredible shape. This is a Southgate gun. Nice addition to my Lasermarks in 7mm Weatherby and 340 Weatherby.

Anybody have a favorite load for the 257 that they'd like to share?

It will become your favorite as it was Roy Weatherby's.
Lower recoil than your other two rifles.
    I don't have a .257 Weatherby's but due shoot a .264 Win Mag and I load Nosler's 120 BT and it's perfect for Deer & Antelope.

Over the years I've tried several loads for my 257 WBY. The most accurate for me has been 71 gr of Reloader 25. I generally load a 115 gr or 120 gr Nosler Partrician. Great deer and antelope rifle. I have taken two elk with it as well.

Really one of the best Roy developed. I agree with Buck. Super accurate and almost no perceived recoil. Great pronghorn round. I shot one years ago, and used it on coyote also.

I can't remember what twist barrel those have. Some require heavier bullet weight. Barrel twist is the first thing to know.

Reloader 22 and 100gr Barnes tsx bullet or the tipped version. Barnes bullets like to be near max. My load is 71gr, but every gun is different. The older Weatherby rifles were twisted slower , so they liked lighter bullet weights . Have killed both elk and deer with the Barnes bullets. Can pm me if need more info.
